John Glover TC02 positive Swab Inquiry
HRNSW today concluded an inquiry into a report received from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory, that a pre race blood sample taken from TAYSPASTIME prior to race 5, the Pryde’s Easifeed Two Golden Guitar Heat Two, at Tamworth on 23 January 2012 upon analysis reported the presence of total plasma carbon dioxide greater than the 36mmol/L threshold as prescribed by the Australian Harness Racing Rules.
Licensed Trainer Mr John Glover pleaded guilty to a charge under Australian Harness Racing Rule 190(1), (2) & (4), in that as the licensed trainer of TAYSPASTIME he did present that horse to race at Tamworth, on 23 January 2012, when a pre race sample taken from it, upon analysis reported the presence of the prohibited substance, total plasma carbon dioxide greater than 36mmol/L.
Mr Glover was disqualified for a period of 10 months effective immediately. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account, his guilty plea, his unblemished record for offences under a similar Rule, the level of the prohibited substance detected, the nature the of the prohibited substance, the seriousness of the offence and his personal circumstances.
TAYSPASTIME was disqualified from its 7th under AHRR 195 from Race 5, Pryde’s Easifeed Two Golden Guitar Heat Two, at Tamworth on 23 January 2012 and all other placings amended accordingly.
