INTEGRITY
The Minister for Gaming and Racing approved the appointment of Mr David Landa as the harness racing Integrity Auditor. The Harness Racing Act 2009 required HRNSW to appoint a person with suitable legal qualifications to hold the office of Harness Racing Integrity Auditor with responsibility for primary oversight of aspects of HRNSW’s operations that relate to stewards, drug testing and control and registration; provision of advice to HRNSW on these matters and, receiving and investigating complaints against racing officials.
Functions of Integrity Auditor
The Integrity Auditor has the following functions:
a) the primary oversight of those aspects of the functions of HRNSW that relate to stewards, drug testing and control and registration
b) providing advice to HRNSW on the matters referred to in paragraph (a),
c) receiving and investigating complaints against racing officials in respect of the exercise of functions relating to harness racing
d) such other functions as are conferred or imposed on the Integrity Auditor by or under this or any other Act.
The functions of the Integrity Auditor are to be exercised independently of HRNSW.
