Promises Kept back in town
Ladyship Mile runner Promises Kept is back with her original trainer Glenn Frew after a short Victorian campaign and will have her 100th start on Friday night at Harold Park.
Frew had planned to have a twelve month break from the sport but after only six weeks decided he was ready have another go.
“There were a couple of things getting me down. I have had two knee reconstructions and having to drive 100 kilometres a day just to work her was tough so I thought I might have a break.”
“So we sent Promises Kept to Lance Justice but my old man was missing seeing her go around every week at Harold Park so I thought I better bring her home and keep the family happy.”
Promises Kept has been back with Frew for about three weeks and he is pleased with her condition.
“She is working as well at the moment as she was when she won the Teeny Teeny Stakes and I am looking forward to seeing how she handles going back to the races because she seems much more relaxed around the stables now than she was before she left.”
“I think the competition in Melbourne is a lot stronger than Sydney. She finished 4th behind Broadways Best at Melton and came from near last on the turn to do it so she might find it a bit easier back in NSW.”
