Stewards Update

REGAL HAWK INQUIRY

Stewards today concluded their inquiry into Race 5 at Tamworth on Thursday 17 September 2009 and the circumstances surrounding the retirement from the event of the $1.50 favourite Regal Hawk.

Mr Adam Ruggari was found guilty under Rule 241 and disqualified for 10 years. When assessing penalty Stewards took into consideration Mr Ruggari’s cooperation during the inquiry and his previous good record in the industry.

Stewards further ordered that the disqualification period be served cumulatively with any other disqualification period imposed in another jurisdiction.

Mr Robert Xerri was found guilty under Rule 245 and disqualified for 10 years. When assessing penalty Stewards took into consideration Mr Xerri’s cooperation during the inquiry and his previous good record in the industry.

Mr Michael Achurch was found guilty under Rule 241 and Rule 187 and was disqualified for 14 years and one year respectively.

Stewards further ordered that the disqualification periods be served cumulatively with previous disqualification periods.
