The Kevin Newman Award for Driving Excellence
Best NSW Drive in the 2017/18 Racing Season
WHAT
This award recognises the best drive as voted by the public in a New South Wales harness racing event during the 2017/18 season. The Award is named in honour of one of the State’s greatest drivers, Kevin Newman OAM.
HOW
A call for nominations will be published via the HRNSW website, Facebook and Twitter pages. These nominations will be shortlisted by HRNSW Executive Management with a public vote made available in order to crown the ‘Best Drive’ for 2017/18.
WHEN
The nomination period will be from September 3 until September 17 with the survey for stakeholders to vote available on September 24.
The winner of the Kevin Newman Award for Driving Excellence will be announced at the HRNSW Awards Night on October 27 at Sofitel Sydney.
CRITERIA

The drive must be from a registered harness racing meeting in NSW during the 2017/18 season;

The driver must have a clear disqualification record during the Award period;

The driver must not have been suspended 28 or more days for a single driving offence or cumulatively for 49 or more days throughout the 2017/18 season.
