RACE 1 – MEN OF LEAGUE PACE   – 2030 metres

Pre-race blood samples were collected from CAMEOS KIWI.

CAMEOS KIWI broke stride in the middle stages of the score and was out of position as the start was effected. A warning was issued.

MAJOR CURRENCY broke stride in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. A warning was issued.

LETTUCEFIREHARVEY commenced to weaken out of the event passing the 700 metres. MO CASINO NZ which was trailing was checked and was unable to gain clear running until approaching the 400 metres. Driver D Scanlan could not offer any suitable explanation for the performance. Connections were advised that the gelding would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

AURORA BROMAC NZ which was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 2 –WESTS NEW LAMBTON PACE   – 1609 metres

Pre-race blood samples were collected from CASUAL RIVER.

READY TO BLOOM broke stride shortly after the start was effected and hampered CANT EXPLAIN IT NZ. A warning was issued. The gelding then again broke stride approaching the first turn and galloped for a considerable distance. Connections were advised that READY TO BLOOM will be stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.

Upon request from connections CANT EXPLAIN IT NZ will now be re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

FRANCO STORM which was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 3 – NEWCASTLE LEAGUES CLUB PACE  – 1609 metres

SPECIAL PONY was declared a late scratching at 4:32 pm on veterinary advice.

PAY ON THE PACER was declared a late scratching at 4:12 pm on veterinary advice.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from SIDDLE.

LITTLE BUDDY broke stride racing down the back straight on the final occasion and checked the running of NICE ONE JON. A warning was issued.

VIEIRA which was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

Following the running of the event stewards inspected a portion of the track between the 500 and the 300 metres upon concerns from drivers in respect to visibility. After consultation with all driver’s out of the event and with the club, Stewards deemed the track surface due to the inclement conditions to be unsafe and abandoned the remainder of the meeting.

 

RACE 4 – OSBORN LAW PROPERTY & EMPLOYMENT PACE  – 2030 metres

CASTLONG SHADOW was declared a late scratching at 1:20 pm on veterinary advice.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from SACKHEIM.
