RACE 1 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE  – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from ROCK N JOY.

A false start was declared when ROCK N JOY (M Chapple) was unable to move into position as ALABAMA SHAKES (J Hughes) which was drawn to the outside had shifted in. The circumstances were noted.

FINAL RIVER (W Buckley) which over-raced when racing forward in the field during and gave ground over the concluding stages to finish at the tail. A warning was issued.

BESOCIAL which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 2 – TAB ODDS & EVENS PACE – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from ASHKII.

JUSTARUMOUR (J Hughes) which was drawn to start from barrier 8 on the front line was fractious in the early stages of the score-up resulting in the gelding being out of position at the start. In view of JUSTARUMOUR’S good record in this regard a warning was issued.

M Formosa (MONDOOLEY HEAVEN) was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when moving wider on the track in the run home done so with barely sufficient clearance over ASKII (B Elder) which was racing on its outside.

MONDOOLEY HEAVEN which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 3 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from HIGHVIEW FREDDY NZ.

N Xuereb (JAKARRAS ACE) was reprimanded under Rule 168(1)(a) for moving the gelding into restricted room as the field left the back straight in the final lap which resulted in JAKARRAS ACE being checked and break stride to lose ground.

DOUBLEDELIGHTBRIGADE NZ which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 4 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres.

Pre race blood samples were collected from STYX VIXEN NZ.

FLIGHT OFFICER NZ (B Lindsay) broke stride in the early stages of the score-up resulting in the gelding being out of position at the start. After an inquiry where Stewards took into account the gelding’s good record in this regard a warning was issued.

BLUE BLAZER NZ (L Sutton) which was drawn in barrier 9 on the front line broke stride shortly after the start was effected to lose ground. In view of the gelding’s good record a warning was issued.

BASSEY (S Ison) appeared to baulk and race roughly for a short distance as the field approached the final turn and a warning was issued.

FERDINAND which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 5 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from JIMMY THE EDITOR NZ.

SO KOOL MASTER (J Callaghan) which was drawn in barrier 2 on the front line broke stride shortly after start to settle rearward. In view of the gelding’s good record a warning was issued.

UPANATOM NZ (G Chapple) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.

REDBELLY JACK which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 6 – NEWCASTLE TRANSPORT SPECIALISTS PACE – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from AT WEST POINT NZ.

B Lindsay (NICE ONE JON) was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to ensure the gelding was  in position at the start.

M Bond (BETAWHENIMDANCIN) was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to ensure the mare was in position at the start.

JENELLES TRISTAR (M Treacy) raced roughly rounding the first turn but lost little ground. A warning was issued.

NEVER KNOW CHARLIE (D Morgan) raced roughly as the field left the back straight in the final lap when wide on the track and a warning was issued.

AT WEST POINT NZ which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 7 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from ALWAYS A LEXUS.

ELITE BOBBY (J Hughes) which was drawn in barrier 9 on the front line hung out in the latter stages of the score-up resulting in the gelding being out of position at the start. A warning was issued.

G Fuller (WHATA CONK) was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to ensure the gelding was in position at the start.

KISSOFDEATH (A Bourke) broke stride after the start was effected to lose ground. In view of the gelding’s good recent record a warning was issued.

J Coney (ALWAYS A LEXUS) was reprimanded under Rule 168(1)(a) for allowing the gelding to contact the sulky of ROCKY FLOYD (C Watson) causing ALWAYS A LEXUS to break stride and lose ground. When considering this matter Stewards were of the view that ROCKY FLOYD had steadied momentarily.

NASHOLI which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 8 – WOLF BLASS PACE – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from AMERICAN KESTREL.

Stewards adjourned an inquiry to an incident on the final where B Lindsay (OUR CHANCE TODREAM) was dislodged from the sulky which disrupted the field resulting in G Fuller (TRU BLU CLASSIC), L Hosking (WALLAROY BOY) and G Bull (MY BLUE HEELER) being dislodged with CHING JUAN (P Hedges) and AMERICAN KESTREL (R Brooks) suffering severe interference. As B Lindsay was transported to hospital the inquiry will resume when involved parties are available.

PONDEROSA BIGZ which was successful was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 9 – HRNSW REWARDS SERIES HEAT 1 – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from BEFORE YOUR TIME.
AZUR EXPRESS (C Geary) which was drawn in barrier 9 on the front line was out of position at the start despite the efforts of its driver and a warning was issued.
IAM THE JOKER (J Mitchell) which raced forward on the field gave ground in the final lap to finish at the rear of the field.
As a result of the above mentioned TWISTED SISTER (C McElhinney) was checked.
SPIKEADOR which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 10 – HRNSW REWARDS SERIES HEAT 2 – 1609 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from SPORTS MAGIC.
ONLY WHEN I PLAY
(J Hughes) was held up for a clear run in the early stages of the run home.
