Mr Grayling advised Stewards that he felt the performance of the mare was disappointing despite being caught racing without cover early in the event. After considering the recent record of MAXIMISER and taking into account the rain affected track, a warning was issued.

Stewards delayed the announcement of All Clear at the request of Glenn McElhinney the driver of STARZZZINTHE CROSS in order to review the video footage of the event to determine if STARZZZINTHE CROSS had been denied a fair start. After taking evidence from Mr McElhinney and reviewing the video footage Stewards were satisfied that STARZZZINTHE CROSS had momentarily faced the mobile before turning up the track and checking MAHALA PRINCE, which caused STARZZZINTHE CROSS to be out of position at the start. After consideration Stewards were satisfied that STARZZZINTHE CROSS had faced the mobile and therefore not been denied the opportunity of a fair start and issued the All Clear on the judges numbers 4-7-2-8. However, Stewards determined to take no further action against STARZZZINTHE CROSS considering the original attempt at score up had been aborted as a result of the issue with COWBOYS N INDIANS and the second attempt had commenced prior to the runners being able to regain their position in the pre-race circle.
