RACE 1 – TAB ODDS & EVENS PACE – 2260 metres.

LIMBO LARRY was reinstated in the field at 2:14 pm after being scratched due to an administration error.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from MANLY BOY.

SPORTY FRANK raced roughly after the start was effected. The gelding will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

BETTERTHANRED broke stride approaching the first turn and checked the running of SWITCHEM ALL IN with MANLY BOY also being hampered as a result. Connections were advised that the horse will be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion given its recent record.

Stewards questioned driver B Hewitt in relation to the performance of LORD DENZEL which weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. Driver B Hewitt reported that the gelding had a tendency to over-race and advised that moving forward would look to keep racing over the shorter course events. Stewards noted his comments and a warning was issued.

JOEYLEW which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 2 – CLUB MENANGLE WHERE HORSES FLY HEAT – 1730 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from COURAGEOUS BEAU.

DYNAMITE DEE broke stride when entering the first turn when racing to the inside of   SCHNAPPSHOT a warning was issued.

CAMBO BLASTER which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 3 – VALE DANE BALLINGER – 1730 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from BETTER THAN GRANGE.

ABERCROMBIE TAB galloped out as the start was effected. A warning was issued. The gelding then continued to gallop for a considerable distance before being retired from the event. Connections were advised that the gelding would be stood down for one re-qualifying trial.

WHOS DRIVING was slow away as the start was effected.

APHORISM which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 4 – CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES HEAT  – 1730 metres
Pre-race blood samples were collected from TIM MCGEE.

 

Stewards delayed the declaration of all clear to ascertain if ICHBA NEWY was afforded a fair start when MO CHARA was back as the start was effected. Upon review and taking evidence from Driver M Rue it was established that ICHIBA NEWY had not been disadvantaged at the start and was declared a runner in the field with all clear given on judge’s numbers. MO CHARA was issued with a warning for being out of position at that stage.

DOT AYOU was examined by the veterinarian post-race and was found to be lame in the near side fore leg. Acting on veterinary advice the mare was stood down for a period of 7 days and until a certificate of fitness is received.

CROSSFIREHALL which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 5 – SKY ACTIVE LADYSHIP PACE – 1730 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from JOANNIES GIRL.

Shortly after the start was effected LLANFAIR RUMOURS hung in away from GRECIAN HOLIDAY and contacted the off side wheel of JOANNIES GIRL which was hampered. LLANFAIR RUMOURS broke stride for a short distance as a result. A warning was issued.

GRECIAN HOLIDAY hung in and hampered the running of WHATA REACTOR passing the 1300 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a laceration to its near side fore leg. Acting on veterinary advice GRECIAN HOLIDAY was stood down for a period of 10 Days and until a certificate of fitness is received.

GRECIAN HOLIDAY which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 6 –BHRC AWARDS NIGHT 25 OCTOBER PACE – 2260 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from STAR WRITER.

STAR WRITER and MISTER HAYWOOD both had a tendency to over-race in the early and middle stages of the event.

SHANNONSTHEMAN utilised the sprint lane over the concluding stages of the event.

MODERN MEASTRO which was successful in the event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 7 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE – 2260 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from LAVROS MIDAS TOUCH NZ.

JUST FOUR STARZZZ weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. A warning was issued.

SAFLEY UNDER WRAPS weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. Trainer P Keogh advised that moving forward would look to restrict it racing to mile events. Connections were advised that the gelding would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

SURE BET SHANNON utilised the sprint lane over the concluding stages of the event.

COBBITY CONQUEST which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

 

RACE 8 – SHANNONS SPRINGS PACE – 2260 metres.

Pre-race blood samples were collected from EVERYBODY CLAP.

ALIBI broke stride racing into the first turn free of interference. Connections were advised that the mare would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

Driver M Rue was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when rounding the final turn looked to shift wider with EVERYBODY CLAP and momentarily locked wheels with DON’T TELL DOROTHY.

Driver P Betts (FLIGHNFIGHT) was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) in that when racing down the home straight for the run to the finish has raced up onto the back of POP THE PORSH to which FLIGHTNFIGHT has raced roughly and checked the running of ALIBI.

MISTER WILBUR which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

General

All driver’s Engaged in Race 2 were subject to breath analysis.
