RACE 1 – CRUTCHER & HILLIER RACING PACE – 2000 metres

 

CHUBBS – Pre-race swab sampled.

THE CHEDDARNATOR – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

PLAY UP A STORM – Broke gait free of interference leaving the 400 metres, given the gelding’s record connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

TUBBEE TEE – Declared a late scratching at 11.38am on Vet’s advice.

RUN VIV RUN – Out of position at the start, connections were advised that it would continue to be placed outside the draw in mobile start races. Tired over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 2 – INTERSALES LADYSHIP PACE – 2000 metres

 

PRETTY FOXY – Checked from behind the tiring JESSZZ REFLECTION approaching the 400 metres. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

FIRST PRIZE – Forced out to a three wide position approaching the 1800 metres, when ROLL WITH RUBY shifted out. Then improved three wide to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1600 metres.

SHES COURAGEOUS – Post-race swab sampled.

PENSARE PRINCESS – Pre-race swab sampled.

ROLL WITH RUBY – Shifted out approaching the 1800 metres, as a result FIRST PRIZE was forced out to a three wide position. At a subsequent inquiry Driver J Pilon was found guilty of a charge under Rule 163(1)(b) for making another runner cover more ground prior to the point where permitted to do so, in that approaching the 1800 metres he shifted the mare out when not clear of FIRST PRIZE which was forced out to a three wide position. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account J Pilon’s good driving record with regards to this rule and the circumstances of the incident. Driver J Pilon had his license to drive in races suspended for a period of 14 days.

KIAMASROSIE – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 3 – TAB ODDS & EVENS PACE – 1635 metres

 

FANTASY LEVEL – Pre-race swab sampled. Which had been held up rounding the home turn, broke when being restrained near the 200 metres, for which a warning was issued.

LA GESTURE – Broke gait during the score-up and a false start was declared, for which a warning was issued.

REGULUS – Post-race swab sampled.

MACH SAM – Pre-race swab sampled. Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

IDEAL SUSPECT – Broke gait free of interference while making a three wide move near the 1000 metres, for which a warning was issued, continued to race three wide until taking over the position outside the leader near the 800 metres.

 

RACE 4 – SOUTH WEST SLOPES CREDIT UNION FINAL – 2000 metres

 

WINSOME MOOLAH – Pre-race swab sampled. Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1800 metres, for which a warning was issued.

NIPPERS GRIN – Hung-in approaching the 1800 metres.

GROOM – Broke gait free of interference while leading near the 1800 metres, given the horse’s record connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

WHEN TO HOLDEM – Pre-race swab sampled. Worked forward to the lead near the 1800 metres when GROOM broke gait.

SKY MAGIC – Trainer G Harpley was reprimanded under Rule 43A(1) for taking the gelding off the course prior to 30 minutes after the race without permission.

CAMS PEARL – Hung-in leaving the 600 metres, as a result ZOES REGAL contacted its sulky wheel.

SCHNAPPSHOT – Declared a late scratching at 10.07am on Vet’s advice.

ZOES REGAL – Contacted the sulky wheel of CAMS PEARL leaving the 600 metres, when that runner hung-in. Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 5 – MILBRAE QUARRIES FINAL – 2000 metres

 

MISTER REBEL – Pre-race swab sampled.

BOLD WESTERN – Pre-race swab sampled. Checked and raced roughly entering the first turn when racing to the inside of CORPORAL JUJON which hung-in. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

CORPORAL JUJON – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1600 metres. Hung-in entering the first turn, for which a warning was issued, as a result BOLD WESTERN was checked and raced roughly.

KETTERING GIRL – Post-race swab sampled.

ROLLECKS – Trainer C Maggs reported to Stewards in the days following the race that he was disappointed with the gelding’s performance. He added that while the gelding seemed to have recovered well from the run, he felt that it may have been flattened somewhat by its first up win the week prior, which it hadn’t trialled prior to and the heat during the week may have taken a toll on it. He further added that he would not be starting the gelding again for a couple of weeks to give it a short freshen-up.

PENNY WRITER – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 6 – BFB & NEW EARTHMOVING TEMORA PACERS CUP – 2386 metres

 

LITTLE CHANGE – Pre-race swab sampled.

UNTYTHEHOOD – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

POLISHED ROCKS – Tightened for room when tiring leaving the 400 metres when racing between THE MUSE and LITTLE CHANGE which shifted out after improving to its inside.

RUSTY CRACKERS – Post-race swab sampled.

RUBIES FOR TASH – Pre-race swab sampled.

CARLA CLARE – Shied at a marker peg that had been hit by a runner ahead of it near the 2000 metres and broke gait, given the circumstances no action was taken. Driver C Maggs was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2) for using his whip in an action that engaged his shoulder in the home straight.

 

RACE 7 – EX-SERVICES MEMORIAL CLUB PACE – 1635 metres

 

PETES PET ROCK – Broke gait during the score-up, for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sampled.

TO BE FEARED – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.

HEAVENLY WISDOM – Pre-race swab sampled. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

WESTERN RICKI – Pre-race swab sampled.

MAGENTA ROSE – Hung-in under pressure in the home straight.

 

RACE 8 – RAY NEW MEMORIAL PACE – 2000 metres

 

ROLL A DREAM – Pre-race swab sampled.

KICKATINALONGPONY – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

RISKY ROLL – Tired over the concluding stages and was beaten by a considerable margin, connections were advised the filly would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

THE BIDGEE BLASTER – Raced roughly during the score-up and was out of position at the start, as it was just the gelding’s third race start, connections were advised it would be placed on its last chance in the draw. Tired over the concluding stages and was beaten by a considerable margin, connections were advised the gelding would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

HOLY CAMP SCOTTY Out of position at the start, no action taken due to the speed of the mobile. Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1800 metres, given it was just the gelding’s second race start connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial. Hung-in and contacted marker pegs leaving the 1000 metres.

MAC STUBBORN – Out of position at the start, no action taken due to the speed of the mobile.
