RACE 1 – C91.3FM TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

ROYALEBOMBA – Pre-race blood sample.   Passing the 150 metres paced and approaching the 100 metres galloped whilst being restrained by Driver J Alchin trying to correct the gelding’s gait.  In view of the gelding’s recent record, a warning was issued.

KYLIES LIFE – Post-race swab sample.

JANSSON NZ – Hung in after the start for a short distance and then again around the final turn proving difficult for Driver R Morris to steer. 

REDWOOD INVASION NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres before improving to the lead at the 1100 metres.

KAR MANOR NZ – Was out of position at the start.  Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after the start before taking no competitive part in the event.  As this was the gelding’s first race start, KAR MANOR NZ was given its last chance in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 2 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND TROTTRS MOBILE – 1609 metres

GOLD SOVEREIGN NZ – Post-race swab sample.

WHATTALOTTAFRAY – Became unbalanced and galloped in the score up on two occasions and as a result was out of position at the start.  In view of the mare’s recent record WHATTALOTTAFRAY will be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.  

ALL LANE – Commenced to weaken from the 500 metres to be beaten 71 metres and finished in seventh position.  Driver J Trainor explained that he was disappointed in the gelding’s efforts however would expect to see improvement from the run considering the gelding was first up since May 2019.  In view the performance of ALL LANE, the gelding was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

LIBERTY STRIDE NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after the start before shifting up the track and making significant contact with YANKEE SAMSON which was drawn to that runners outside.  In view of the mare’s recent record and racing manners, the mare will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw and was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. 

YANKEE SAMSON – Pre-race blood sample.   A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding not competing since the 4th of December 2018.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Was severely checked and broke when contacted by LIBERTY STRIDE NZ shortly after the start.  Will now be reincluded in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 3 – RYDGES CAMPBELLTOWN LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

A delay to the start of this event was required due to Dalby Race 3 running 7 minutes late.

 

SADHANA NZ – Approaching the 20 metres was checked and broke when making contact with the sulky of FIORE STRIDE. 

FIORE STRIDE - Worked forward to obtain to the lead passing the 1200 metres.  Shifted out in the run to the finish whilst under pressure and as a result made contact with SADHANA NZ approaching the 20 metres.  In view of the mare’s racing manners a warning was issued.

GOOD DAY SUNSHINE NZ – Post-race swab sample.

JUST TOOTSIE – Pre-race blood sample.   A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Was checked and broke when improving onto the back of the galloping SADHANA NZ at the 20 metres.

 

RACE 4 – AINSWORTH GAME TECHNOLOGY PACE – 1609 metres

JAKES SPORTWRITER – Hung out in the latter stages of the score up.

SHANOCON NZ – Pre-race blood sample.   Sustained a flat offside sulky wheel when being contacted by DARK ENERGY NZ passing the 500 metres and as a result was retired from the event approaching the 100 metres. 

DARK ENERGY NZ – Driver R Morris pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that passing the 500 metres he has allowed DARK ENERGY NZ to improve onto the offside wheel of SHANOCON NZ when looking to make a run to the outside of that runner.  Driver R Morris was fined of $200 after considering his recent record in relation to the rule as well as his guilty plea.  Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – MIRACLE MILE BOOKINGS CLAIMING PACE – 1609 metres

EH EF EL NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  

DON BOSTON – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – KID’S SUPERHEROS DAY 21ST JANUARY PACE – 1609 metres

SMOKING ZAK – Failed to run on over the concluding stages.  Upon entering the home straight locked stays momentarily with EVERYBODYLOVEDRAY.

SUPERBASS NZ – Was held up in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.  Driver J Grimson was issued a was reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that approach to the finish whilst being held up behind PETES BIG JIM,  has angled SUPERBASS NZ to the outside of PETES BIG JIM whilst having WOLF STRIDE racing to his outside and as a result has improved into restricted room and made contact with the wheel of PETES BIG JIM.  In not taking more severe action Stewards considered the minimal consequential effect of the incident.

PETES BIG JIM – Had its sulky contacted at approximately the 20 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

TUPELO BEACH – Pre-race blood sample.  

BLUE IVY NZ – Race three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres.

FIFTEEN ACES – Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1100 metres.

WOLF STRIDE – Raced three wide in the early stages with a trail until working forward to the position outside the leader at the 900 metres.  Will now be reincluded in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 7 – LEXUS OF MACARTHUR CLAIMING PACE – 2300 metres

 

FOREVER TEXAS – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

RUTHLESS ARMBRO – Worked forward to obtain to the lead passing the 1900 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

TIPPITINYA – Pre-race blood sample.   Became unbalance and galloped for a short distance in the early stages of the score up. 

 

RACE 8 – NATIONAL TROTGUIDE ONLINE PACE – 1609 metres

BETTORS POCKET NZ – Was held up for clear running until approaching the 100 metres.

ALWAYS A STRIDE – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the lead at the 1150 metres.  Driver A Butt was advised to exercise more care when shifting down the track in that when crossing to the lead did so with minimal clearance over ELECT TO ROCK.

COWBOYS N INDIANS NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1100 metres.  Over raced when positioned outside the leader.

KIWI STRIDE – Raced wide throughout the event when being unable to obtain the position outside the leader.  Driver T McCarthy stated that approaching the 1400 metres COWBOYS N INDIANS NZ began to improve to his inside and as a result was required to steady his runner and obtain a trail up until the 1100 metres when that runner progressed forward to the position outside the leader. Mr McCarthy explained that once COWBOYS N INDIANS NZ obtained the position outside the leader he then improved to that runners outside and it appeared Mr McDowell (COWBOYS N INDIANS NZ) was looking to restrain his drive to take cover however as his runner improved to its outside, COWBOYS N INDIANS NZ then improved forward and he was unable to cross that runner. Mr McCarthy stated that a point at approximately the 1000 metres when it became apparent he was not going to be able to cross, he stated he didn’t believe it would be of any benefit restraining back to last so allowed KIWI STRIDE to stride three wide under its own terms. Mr McCarthy further stated that considering the run afforded to KIWI STRIDE, he was very pleased with the performance of his runner.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT - BANKSTOWN 27 DECEMBER 2019

RACE 8 – CARING FOR KIDS BANKSTOWN PACE – 1740 METRES

 

RED TERROR NZ – Approaching the 400 metres, shifted out and locked wheels with THE JAY DOUG which lost ground when commencing to weaken. In view of the contributing factor in that THE JAY DOUG was giving ground, no further action was taken other than reporting the incident.

 

THE JAY DOUG – Approaching the 400 metres, checked when locking wheels with RED TERROR NZ which shifted out.

 

L Booth – Inquiry, Facebook comments

HRNSW Stewards conducted an inquiry today regarding comments made by registered Owner Mr L Booth on the 29th or 30th of July 2019 at which time Mr Booth was the holder of a driver’s licence.

Mr Booth pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 248 in that he posted on the social media platform Facebook, comments that were improper regarding an employee of HRNSW.

Mr Booth was fined $1500 of which $750 was ordered to be suspended for a period of 2 years on the condition that Mr Booth does not reoffend under this particular Rule or any conduct related matters.
