RACE 1 – ALLIED EXPRESS PACE – 1609 metres

ROYAL GAMBLE NZ – Sulky contacted near the 400 metres.

AUTHORITATIVE – Near the 400 metres contacted the sulky of ROYAL GAMBLE NZ and as a result broke gait.  At a subsequent enquiry this was found not to be as a result of careless driving and therefore having regards to the gelding’s recent record, a warning was issued.

PLEASE SHUDDUP NZ – (Barrier 3) Broke gait during the score up and as a result interfered with JAKES SPORTSWRITER resulting in a false start being declared.  In view of the gelding’s recent record, a warning was issued.  Improved three wide with a trail from the 1100 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader near the 700 metres.

JAKES SPORTSWRITER – Pre-race blood sample.  Checked and lost ground passing the 400 metres when taken back by the galloping AUTHORITATIVE

JIMISON – Post-race swab sample.

REGAL ROCK NZ – Improved three wide until obtaining the position outside the leader near the 1100 metres.

IM FEELING FIREY – Driver T McCarthy was cautioned in relation to crossing and the clearance he provided to REGAL ROCK NZ entering the first turn. 

CROOKWELL JAKE – Trainer J Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for incorrect gear notification.  Raced keenly during the middle stages.  Held up for clear running for the entire length of the home straight and was not fully tested.

ISLAND BANNER – Improved three wide with a trail before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 900 metres.

MAJOR ROLL – Pre-race blood sample.  Improved three wide from the 800 metres to race without cover.

 

RACE 2 – CHRISTMAS IN JULY PACE – 1609 metres

NOSTRA VILLA – Pre-race blood sample.   Post-race swab sample.

DON BOSTON – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was carried out on the gelding which has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

NO APACHEMEE NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted on the gelding which has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

REDBELLY JACK – Pre-race blood sample.  

UNCLE JAY – Presented on course prior to 10am on the morning of the race due to the gelding being subject to the HRNSW Elevated TCO2 listing.  Pre-race blood sample.  

 

RACE 3 – AINSWORTH GAME TECHNOLOGY PACE – 1609 metres

HIDDEN COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample.  

VANDANTA NZ – Shifted out over the concluding stages of the event.

FOUROEIGHT – Stewards delayed the all clear to review the early stages of the home straight with regard to gelding attempting a run between VANDANTA NZ and IGNATIUS.  On review, Stewards noted that FOUROEIGHT was disappointed for a run which had been contributed to by VANDANTA NZ shifting out however, at this stage no run had been established and consequently the all clear was given on the judge’s numbers.  Held up for clear running until shifting wider near the 150 metres.

ARMA THE GUN – Raced outside the leader throughout the event and failed to run on over the concluding stages.  Driver D Hewitt stated that although not running on he was happy with the overall run considering the gelding was racing up in grade and the quicker mile rate in tonight’s event.

IGNATIUS – Post-race swab sample.

OUR WALL STREET WOLF NZ – Driver L McCarthy was issued a reprimand under Rule 170(1)(b) for allowing his left foot to lower when activating approved gear.

 

RACE 4 – ACCESS GROUP SOLUTIONS LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

GRACIE TALJUICE – Pre-race blood sample.  

PAY ME OVERS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  

ROCKNROLL PEARL – Post-race swab sample.

PROPHESY – Trainer K Morris was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for incorrect gear notification.

 

RACE 5 – FARMER JOES OUTLET FINAL (GROUP 3)

WHEREYABINBOPPIN – Pre-race blood sample.   Post-race swab sample.

SEEUINNASHVILLE – Pre-race blood sample.  

PERFECT STRIDE NZ – Trainer / Driver A Butt was questioned as to the seemingly disappointing performance of the colt which failed to run on in the home straight to finish in eight position beaten 23.4 metres.  Mr Butt stated that he was slightly disappointed with the run as he felt the colt with sprint a little better in the home straight. Mr Butt added that PERFECT STRIDE NZ is a 3yo taking on the older horses and is only 2nd up tonight.

 

RACE 6 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE – 1609 metres

REPLACED EYE – Shifted ground in the home straight.  Post-race swab sample.

THE BLACK PRINCE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.   Inconvenienced near the 1450 metres when crowded between BENICIO and ALTA ORLANDO NZ which shifted in.

ATOMIC RED – Improved three wide until obtaining the position outside the leader near the 1050 metres. 

ALTA ORLANDO NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Shifted in near the 1450 metres and crowded THE BLACK PRINCE NZ.  Driver L McCarthy was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. 

 

RACE 7 – c91.3FM TUNE IN LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

GENERAL - The start of this event was delayed slightly as a result of Stewards being repositioned around the track in view of the heavy fog.

 

ONEDIN REIGN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.   Checked from the 500 metres and lost ground as a result of being positioned behind the weakening BLACK SILHOUETTE.

BLACK SILHOUETTE – Weakened badly from the 500 metres to finish in ninth position between 93.3 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from atrial fibrillation.  Acting under veterinarian advice and in accordance with AHHR 101C(2)(a), BLACK SILHOUETTE was stood down from racing for a period 14 days (NTC), a veterinary certificate of fitness including the results of an ECG and a requalifying trial.

BETTER ENFORCE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Improved three wide in the early stages before obtaining the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres and then continued to work forward to obtain the lead near the 1050 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – CELEBRATE YOUR WEDDING AT MCC TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

GENERAL – The start of this event was delayed for several minutes as a result of Stewards allowing additional time for the fog to clear.  The race was rescheduled and commenced at 8.52pm.

 

ILLAWONG SUNNY – On request from Trainer B Abbott the horse was examined after arriving on course and revealed a stilted gait.  On the observation and acting under veterinarian advice, ILLAWONG SUNNY was declared a late scratching at 6.39pm on Vets advice.  ILLAWONG SUNNY was stood down for a period of 10 days (NTC) in addition to a veterinarian certificate of fitness.

HELLBOUND – Weakened over the final 200 metres. 

GALLEONS VICTORY NZ – Driver L McCarthy pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 170(1)(a) in that from approximately the 100 metres he had allowed his right foot to lower from the sulky rest and as a result there had been contact between the foot and horse’s hind leg.  Mr McCarthy was fined $300 after considering his overall offence record with regards to this Rule.

GOLD SOVEREIGN – (Barrier 5) Driver K Morris was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position by the starting point.

IONA GRINNER – Pre-race blood sample.  

CASTLEREAGH NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  (Barrier 7) Driver B Fitzpatrick was fine d $100 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position by the starting point.

QUIETLY SPOKEN Post-race swab sample.

 

GENERAL –

Tonight Stewards finalised an enquiry which commenced on Saturday 4 July 2020 with licensed driver Mr Cameron Hart. Mr Hart pleaded guilty to two (2) charges.

Charge 1 – AHHR 159A(7) Not wearing a body protector approved by HRA during track work on 4 July 2020.  Mr Hart was fined $250 having regards to the HRNSW Penalty Guidelines in addition to his recent good record. 

Charge 2 – AHHR 187(2) Mr Hart provided false and misleading evidence to Stewards during the investigation and enquiry with regards to him not wearing a body protector during track work in 4 July 2020. Stewards imposed a fine of $3000 for which $1500 would be suspended for a period of 2 years in accordance with Rule 256(5)(a).  The conditions of this suspended penalty are that Mr Hart does not reoffend under this particular rule or any conduct related matters for the period specified.  In considering penalty Stewards took into account Mr Hart’s conduct throughout the investigation and enquiry in that he provided false and misleading evidence on three (3) separate occasions, his guilty plea, overall record, Mr Hart’s personal and financial situation, his remorse and the serious nature of this offence.
