RACE 1 – SOUTHGATE INN PACE 1609 metres

RUBY BABY NZ – Sent to be swabbed.

FREDDIES DELIGHT – Held up for clear running and was not tested.

SIR RICHARD LEE – Pre-race blood test.

OVERTHEMOON – Held up for clear running until the 150m.

FOREVER ROCKING - Held up for clear running and was not tested.

ANGELINA JULIE - Held up for clear running and was not tested.

RACE 2 – SKY RACING ACTIVE CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES PACE – 1609 metres

AMUSED – Galloped leaving the 600m. Given its record, it will now be required to requalify before racing again.

JOHNSON STEP – Hung in immediately after the start and contacted a number of marker pegs. Sent to be swabbed.

STUNIN MAGIC – Galloped during the score-up and was out of position at the start. Given its record a warning was issued. Checked leaving the 600m.

SHES HEAVENLY – Pre-race blood test. Galloped rounding the first turn. Given its record a warning was issued.

RACE 3 – BEVAN DOUGLAS PACE – 2360 metres

YOHA NZ – Sent to be swabbed.

GLENAVRIL GIRL – Commenced to weaken from the 700m and finished distanced. Connections were advised that the mare is required to requalify before racing again.

NOR WESTA – Checked and taken back from the 700m to the 550m when CAPITAL CULLECT was giving ground.

CAPITAL CULLECT - Commenced to weaken from the 700m and finished distanced. Connections were advised that the mare is required to requalify before racing again.

RACE 4 – THE PUB GROUP GOLD NUGGET PACE - 1980 metres

NEVILLE SHANNON – Pre-race blood test.   

TRALEE ROCKS – Raced fiercely for the majority of the event and as a result commenced to weaken from the 550m and finished distanced. Hung in near the 500m when it was giving ground simultaneous to BIG TIME HUSTLER shifted out marginally and as a result TRALEE ROCKS raced roughly. Connections were advised that TRALEE ROCKS is required to requalify before racing again.   

RIGHT ON WITH IT – Out of position at the start. Given its record a warning was issued.

MARTY MAJOR – Driver L Cain was fined $50 under Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) in that he allowed his gelding to contacted several marker pegs near the 850m and again near the 150m. Sent to be swabbed.

RACE 5 – LONGYARD HOTEL PACE - 1609 metres

POINT OH FIVE – Galloped shortly after the start. Given its record a warning was issued.

HEAVENLY SONG – Commenced to weaken from the 500m and finished distanced. Connections were advised that the mare is required to requalify before racing again.  

NAVUA GIRL – Checked shortly after the start.

ROYAL ADMIRAL – Pre-race blood test. Sent to be swabbed.

RACE 6 – FAMILY HOTEL PACE - 1609 metres

BUCKLEDOWN BUDDY ­– Checked and raced roughly approaching the 50m.

PEGGY SUE SHANNON – Driver D Chapple pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 50m he shifted out when not clear of BUCKLEDOWN BUDDY resulting in that gelding being checked and racing roughly. When considering penalty Stewards took into account his plea of guilt, driving record and forthright evidence. D Chapple had his licence to drive in races suspended for 10 days commencing 11 January 2021.

DARK SIDE NZ – Sent to be swabbed.

RACE 7 – THE PUB – GUNNEDAH ROAD PACE – 1980 metres

TABRA – Raced fiercely during the middle stages. Driver C McElhinney was fined $50 under Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) in that she allowed her mare to contacted several marker pegs near the 850m.

GLEN INNES LAD – Driver D Chapple was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) in that he failed to bring his gelding up into position at the start. Sent to be swabbed.

MAMMALS DESTINY – Pre-race blood test.

MONEYMATTERS – Hung in and galloped rounding the first turn. The gelding then galloped again near the 1200m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant obvious abnormalities. Connections were advised that the gelding is required to requalify before racing again.

RACE 8 – WWW.THEPUB.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

TRIPLEROCK – Pre-race blood test. Galloped rounding the first turn. Given its record a warning was issued.

MARLEY BROMAC – Commenced to weaken from the 500m and finished distanced. Connections were advised that the mare is required to requalify before racing again.

BLISSFUL IDENTITY – Driver R Williams was questioned in relation to the tactics he adopted in the early stages. He said that he elected to press forward at the start with the intention of finding a forward position where BLISSFULL IDENTITY performs best. He said that he had to work harder than anticipated when MARLEY BROMAC was racing to his inside however when he crossed that mare near the 1600m he had a significant advantage over the leader, UNCLE GREGORY, so he had an attempt for the lead however was unsuccessful. He said that thereafter the gelding commenced to strike its own sulky with its off hind leg and as a result BLISSFULL IDENTITY raced fiercely. His comments were noted.

KENNY WHAT – Galloped rounding the first turn. Given its record it was given its last chance to race truly.  

RINTIN – Driver M Sullivan was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip to the gelding using more than a wrist only flicking motion over the final 150 metres.
