RACE 1 – EAST ALBURY IGA PACE – 1770 metres

Prior to the all clear, Brett Hogan (ROLL ON THE BEACH) requested to view the home straight of the finish to ascertain whether he had grounds for a protest.  After viewing same, he lodged a protest fourth which he was placed against the second placed horse HEAVENLY WISDOM.  After taking evidence from both drivers and viewing the official footage, Stewards acting on their own observations the protest was dismissed and the all clear was given on the judge’s numbers of 5, 1, 6 and 7.

HEAVENLY WISDOM – Withstood protest.

RACE 3 – SKY RACING ACTIVE CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES HEAT – 1770 metres

THE ANALYZER – Post-race swab samples were taken.

COOLHAND EASTON NZ – Driver Jackson Painting was queried regarding this gelding’s apparent poor performance in tonight’s event.  Mr Jackson explained that it was his intention to go forward as he had won two races being driven similarly but the three runners to his inside showed far greater speed than his drive and he was left with no option other than to take a trail towards the rear of the field.  Turning into the back straight on the final occasion he attempted to ease wider to progress forward but as he did HEAVENS HURRICANE eased to the three wide line in front of him.  Approaching the 400 metres where HEAVENS HURRICANE was not progressing forward Mr Painting eased COOLHAD EASTON NZ four wide and it raced around the turn in that position.  Failed to run on in the home straight.  He further added that he felt that although the horse won at Albury three starts ago that was when he had led the event and felt tonight when racing in the field the horse had failed to handle the track.  No further action was taken.

THE CLOCK WINDER – Pre-race blood samples were taken.  Hung in on the final turn near the 300 metres.

ABERCROMBIE FLASH – Tightened near the 300 metres and raced rough for a short distance as a result of THE CLOCK WINDER hanging in.
