RACE 1 – FOR A REASON LADYSHIP PACE – 1730 metres
BRADNESS ABUELA – Out of positon as the start was affected. A warning was issued. When negotiating the first turn had a tendency to hang out when racing in restricted room to the inside of BABY BEE MINE and in turn JIGGY RHYTHM which was wide on the track. As a result contacted the near side wheel of BABY BEE MINE and broke stride. A warning was issued for hanging out at that stage.
BABY BEE MINE – Driver N Turnbull was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn it closed down the track and restricted the racing room of BRADNESS ABUELA, that movement was redressed wider on the track however, was then placed in restricted room to the inside of JIGGY RHYTHM which was closing down the track.
COBBITY CASTLE – Pre-race sample was taken. Had a tendency to hang in during the middle stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected. A warning was issued.
JIGGY RHYTHM – Driver A Clancy was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn it closed down the track and restricted the racing room of BABY BEE MINE which in turn restricted the racing room of BRADNESS ABUELA.
ALL SPRUCED UP – Out of position as the start was affected. Connections were advised that will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Post-race sample was taken.
RACE 2 – RELIANCE BANK PACE – 1730 metres
JAK MAGIC – Broke stride as the field raced down the home straight on first occasion. Connections were advised that given its recent record it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.
GOODTIME HERO – Post-race sample was taken.
FOUR FOR THE ROAD – Driver O Frisby was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the final turn prior to entering the home straight for the run to the finish had closed down the track and restricted the racing room of JOGALONG BLUE which had progressed through at that stage. In not taking more severe action Stewards were mindful that when the shift down the track commenced she was clear to do so however JOGALONG BLUE, with the momentum gained, raced up into that position.
THE GROGFATHER – Pre-race sample was taken.
JOGALONG BLUE – Rounding the home turn raced up into restricted room with FOUR FOR THE ROAD closing down the track resulting in it being checked and broke stride.
RACE 3 – CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES HEAT – 1730 metres
WINDY HILL WALLY – Post-race sample was taken.
IDLE HANDS – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
BEAUTIFULVENGEANCE – Stewards delayed the declaration of all-clear to review the patrol footage in relation to the concluding stages where it was evident that BEAUTIFULVENGEANCE contacted marker pegs prior to entering the sprint lane. Upon review Stewards were satisfied that BEAUTIFULVENGEANCE had not gained an advantage and as a result the all-clear was declared on the judge’s numbers. Driver A Winnell was fined the sum of $100 under Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) for contacting marker pegs at that stage.
RACE 4 – BOURKES HORSE RUGS PACE – 2260 metres
IDEOLOGIST NZ – Pre-race sample was taken. Stewards queried driver A Turnbull in relation to the performance of the gelding. A Turnbull explained to Stewards that she wasn’t overly disappointed in the performance as it was up in grade. She further added that that distance may not have suited. Stewards noted her comments.
ENK SPOT SHANNON – Post-race sample was taken.
GABBYS SPORTSTAR – Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the run to the finish.
GENTLE GIANT NZ – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.
RACE 5 – OBERON NIGHT 15 JANUARY PACE – 170 metres
MISTER HAYWOOD – Pre-race sample was taken.
JIMMY LOCKE – Had a tendency to shift ground whilst under pressure in the early stages of the run to the finish. Driver J O’Shea was advised to take greater care in similar circumstances.
SCARLET BABE – Broke stride shortly after the start was affected. Connections were advised that it would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
THE MUSTANG – Post-race sample was taken.
RACE 6 – LISTENING TO OUR CUSTOMERS PACE – 1730 metres
THEMIDNIGHTRAMBLER – Had a tendency to hang out throughout various stages of the event.
DARGOS PET – Post-race sample was taken.
CAESARS ROCKSTAR – Pre-race sample was taken.
RACE 7 – STU VALENTINE 4 BLOODSTOCK INS LADYSHIP PACE – 1730 metres
POPPY FRANCO – Broke stride shortly after the start was affected. A warning was issued.
SHES THE OTHER ONE – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Utilised the sprint lane over the concluding stages.
REMEMBER EVE – Pre-race sample was taken.
SHES ALL SMILES – Post-race sample was taken.
RACE 8 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE – 1730 metres
THE HANDSOME ONE – Post-race sample was taken.
THE MANIAC – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. Driver J O’Shea advised that connections were disappointed in the mare’s efforts in the event and moving forward would look to drive the mare more conservatively. Stewards issued a warning against the performance.
PALE FACE JO – Pre-race sample was taken.
LIMBO LARRY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

RACE 8 – TAB ODDS & EVENS PACE – 1730 metres
Stewards concluded an inquiry into the tactics adopted by P Bonham the driver of SHES THE OTHER ONE. P Bonham explained to stewards that after beginning fairly was caught wide entering the first turn and worked forward to the position outside of the leader. He further added that the tempo in the event had eased racing into the second quarter to which he raced on terms with the leader however only recording a 31 sectional. SHES THE OTHER ONE commenced to weaken over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten some distance. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards noted his comments with no further action being taken.
