RACE 1 – BAKERS BUTCHERY / MARGARET MAWHOOD MEMORIAL – 1730 metres

 

LA PEREGRINA – Slow away as the start was affected.  Broke stride as the field passed the 900 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.  Connections were advised that given its recent record it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

GREYS STONEBRIDGE – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  A warning was issued.

MY BELL AND ME – Pre-race sample was taken.  Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

SEMI SENSATION – Post-race sample was taken.

JERULA JOSIE – Severely checked and broke stride approaching the 900 metres.

 

RACE 2 – MOORHEAD CRANES PACE – 1730 metres

 

THE HANDSOME ONE – Checked and broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn.

LIMBO LARRY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with abnormalities reported.

THE MACH ARMY – Pre-race sample was taken.  Checked as the field negotiated the first turn.

COURAGE LIPS – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn.  A warning was issued.

CARIBBEAN PAT – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 3 – OBERON QUARRIES / OBERON TRASHPAK PACE – 1730 metres

 

IM ALRITE – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

THE GROGFATHER – Trainer J Boserio was fined the sum of $50 under Rule 210 for the late declaration of B Hewitt as the driver.  Post-race sample was taken.

JOINT VENTURE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected.  Continued to gallop for some distance taking no competitive part in the event.  Connections were advised that it would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 4 – ROSEDALE GIFTS / TECH PLAS PACE – 1730 metres

 

CASTALONG SHADOW – Post-race sample was taken.

AMETHYST NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 5 – ELGAS / MITRE 10 OBERON CUP – 2260 metres

 

APHORISM –Pre-race sample was taken. 

FOUROEIGHT – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 6 – BOWYER & LIVERMORE PACE – 1730 metres

 

TERROR TO ROCK – Inconvenienced shortly after the start was affected.  Restricted for racing room as the field entered the first turn.

COUNT MONTECARLO – Galloped away as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

POOR MANS DELIGHT – Post-race sample was taken.

BETTORPICKABEACH – Pre-race sample was taken.  Driver B Hutchings was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)()(iii) in that when entering the first turn closed down the track and restricted the racing room of TERROR TO ROCK. 

ROCKNROLL TIMES – Hung in as the field entered the home straight and contacted marker pegs and then continued to hang in whilst under pressure entering the sprint lane.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 7 – OBERON COUNCIL PACE – 1730 metres

 

JESSEJAMES SHANNON – Slow away as the start was affected.

BLACKBERRY ROSE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken. 

CHOC A BLOCK – Stewards delayed the declaration of all-clear to review the patrol footage in relation to that runner contacting marker pegs prior to entering the sprint lane for the run to the finish.  Upon review and taking evidence from driver J Morris Stewards were satisfied that it had not gained an advantage by contacting marker pegs and as a result the all-clear was declared on the judge’s numbers.  Driver J Morris was fined the sum of $100 under Rule 163(1)(c)(i) for contacting marker pegs at that point.

 

RACE 8 – OBERON RSL CLUB PACE – 1730 metres

 

SPEAK WITH SAM – Pre-race sample was taken.

BULLDOG BRAWLER – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance.  Driver J Davis could not offer any suitable explanation for the performance.  Connections were advised that it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

LINX DOWNS – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

ME AN YOU - Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance.  Connections were advised that it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

MISS MARAVU – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected taking no competitive part in the event.  Connections were advised that it would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

WHOS MY MOTHER NZ – Post-race sample was taken.
