RACE 1 – SILVALITE FUEL STOP PACE – 1760metres

FUMIA REACTOR – Stewards questioned Driver A. Richardson in regards to the driving tactics adopted in the middle stages of the event in particular the reasons for shifting three wide near the 900 metres. A. Richardson stated that at the gelding’s previous start it performed like a gelding which is one paced. A. Richardson stated for that reason he elected to move three wide to maintain a consistent tempo however approaching the 400 metres the gelding commenced to tire and had a tendency to hang in. Stewards noted the comments.

TO ALASKA – Stewards questioned Driver P. Hillier in regards to the performance of the mare which tired to be beaten 56 metres. P. Hillier stated that the mare may not have been suited to racing outside he lead in today’s event and he was disappointed with the overall performance of the mare. A warning was issued.

BOLD ART – Pre-race blood sample.

PETES ART MAJOR – Trainer M. Prest was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the mare with incorrect gear.

MYTHOS – Trainer M. Johnstone was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding with incorrect gear. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 2 – YIRRIBEE PACING STUD PACE – 1760metres

BRETTS HOPE – Driver R. Arentz was cautioned for the manner in which he applied his whip in the home straight on the final occasion.

SUSAN JOY – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 3 – ROYAL TAVERN PACE – 1760metres

CRYSTAL TIARA – Trainer D. Hillier was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the mare with incorrect gear. Driver M. Towers was reprimanded under Rule 163(3) for trailing the off side wheel of TROMSO between the 1400 metres and 1200 metres. Stewards questioned Driver M. Towers in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the mare in particular the reasons for maintaining the position outside the lead when challenged by CRIME DON’T PAY during the 2nd quarter (28.6 seconds). M. Towers stated that when the horse has been driven with cover since joining the stable the mare hasn’t finished off its races and therefore he elected to maintain the position outside the lead in today’s event as when the horse was driven in a positive manner previously it was successful. M. Towers further added that he was satisfied with the performance of the mare as it may not have been suited to the track in today’s event. Stewards noted the comments.

SIR MACS MAN NZ – Broke after the start. Will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile starts. Tired from the 500 metres to be beaten 85 metres. A warning was issued.

ILLTELLYOUNOTHING – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

LAST WALK – Trainer J. Turner was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding with incorrect gear. Raced roughly during the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Raced roughly leaving the 900 metres.

DUST TO DIAMONDS – Driver T. White was cautioned for the manner in which he applied his whip from the 400 metres in particular the amount of times the whip was applied.

RACE 4 – STEEL SUPPLIES PACE – 1760metres

HEAVENLY WISDOM – Driver D. Druitt pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that entering the home straight on the final occasion he shifted his runner wider on the track and as a result GOLD CHESTER was checked and a short distance later continued to shift out resulting in GOLD CHESTER contacting the sulky wheel of HEAVENLY WISDOM and was checked and broke. D. Druitt’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 21 days to commence at midnight 20th April 2021.

GOLD CHESTER – Checked and broke entering the home straight on the final occasion.

OUR SAMS HOME – Near the 100 metres checked when GOLD CHESTER broke.

TIGER CHEDDAR – Checked near the 100 metres when GOLD CHESTER broke.

FAMILY TREE – ­Pre-race blood sample. Trainer T. White was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding with incorrect gear. Severely checked near the 100 metres when GOLD CHESTER broke.

BE GOOD BENNY – Post-race swab sample.

JOSIE ELLA – Trainer D. Micallef was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the mare to race with incorrect gear. Checked near the 100 metres.

RACE 5 – KEVIN & KAY SEYMOUR LADYSHIP (LADY DRIVERS) PACE – 1760metres

GOLDEN ZARA – Pre-race blood sample.

MISS PEIDIEPIE – Post-race swab sample.

RACE 6 – RAY WHITE RURAL REAL ESTATE COOLAMON CUP PACE – 2210metres

FOREVER YIN – Driver B. Jones pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(b) for forcing another runner wider in that leaving the 800 metres he shifted FOREVER YIN from a marker peg position to a one wide position and as a result ARE DOUBLEYOU was forced to a three wide position prior to the candy pole. B. Jones licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight 20th April 2021. Post-race swab sample.

MAMMALS PRINCE – Stewards questioned Driver A. Richardson in regards to the performance of the gelding which tired from the 800 metres to be beaten 163 metres. A. Richardson stated that gelding travelled well during the event however when placed under pressure near the 900 metres failed to respond to his driving and tired badly from the 800 metres. Trainer’s representative J. Painting stated that he was unable to offer an explanation for the performance of the gelding and that the stable would take blood samples in the days subsequent to the event and report any findings to the Stewards. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. In view of the performance the gelding will be stood down until it can complete one satisfactory trial.

ARE DOUBLEYOU – Forced wide by another runner near the 800 metres.

ROCKY CREED – Trainer C. McPherson was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding to race with incorrect gear.

ADIRA – Trainer D. Kennedy was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the mare to race with incorrect gear.

ARMA NAUGHTY – Trainer S. Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the mare to race with incorrect gear.

RACE 7 – TAB CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES HEAT – 1760metres

HEAVENS HURRICANE – Trainer B. Duck was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding to race with incorrect gear.

WILDESTDREAMS – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

MY ULTIMATE ANDY – Post-race swab sample.

EL AGUILA – Checked and broke near the 1300 metres.

LUVTOO – Driver J. McPherson pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that near the 1300 metres he failed to make sufficient effort from preventing his runner to shift down the track when not sufficiently clear of EL AGUILA and as a result that runner was checked and broke. J. McPherson’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 18 days to commence at midnight 20th April 2021.

BEAU BROWN – Driver A. Richardson was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that near the 50 metres he allowed the gelding to shift in and as a result made contact with MAJOR HUSS and as a result that runner was steadied. Driver A. Richardson pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight on the final occasion. Driver A. Richardson was fined $400 and his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight 20th April 2021.

MAJOR HUSS – Pre-race blood sample. Near the 50 metres steadied when BEAU BROWN shifted down the track.
