RACE 1 – HOGS BREATH CAFÉ DUBBO PACE – 2120 metres
OLD FARM WAY – Slow to begin when the start was affected.
CARRAMAR TIMES UP – Worked forward three wide from the 1400 metres until obtaining he position outside the leader at the 1300 metres. Tired over the final 300 metres to be beaten 49 metres. Trainer/driver N Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the mare. N Turnbull stated that racing in the position outside the leader and the slow track condition due to heavy rain contributed to the mares performance. He further added that when leaving the 300 metres while yielding ground was momenterially inconvenienced when racing between SPEAK WITH SAM who was shifting out and GOODTIME HERO who had shifted in. His comments were noted.
ITSALLABOUTNED – Post-race sample collected.
SPEAK WITH SAM – Pre-race blood sample collected. Surrendered the lead to DRIVE TO THE BEACH at the 1700 metres.
DRIVE TO THE BEACH – Raced three wide from the start until working forward to the lead at the 1700 metres.
PEGGYVILLE – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
GOODTIME HERO – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1800 metres.
RACE 2 – GARRARDS COBRA GIG SERIES HEAT 1 – 1720 metres
JESSEJAMES SHANNON – Negotiating the first turn was tightened for racing room and contacted marker pegs when SPARKY SHARKY shifted down the track.
EAGLE ART – Pre-race blood sample collected.
SPARKY SHARKY – Driver J Pay was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference when negotiating the first turn has shifted his horse down the track in an attempt to obtain the position behind the leader, when doing so has done so with insufficient clearance of JESSEJAMES SHANNON with that horse being tightened. Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
LOU CEE – Driver W Cassell was cautioned on his whip use shortly after the start was affected.
SPORTY – Caught racing three wide in the early stages and until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres.
BURRABADINE DANCER – Raced three wide for the final 900 metres without cover.
REASON TO PARTY – Worked forward three wide from the 1400 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 800 metres.
ROLL THE SEVEN – Trainer/driver M Simmons was queried on the perceived improved performance of the gelding. M Simmons stated that he had changed the training methods of the gelding since its recent start and as a result ROLL THE SEVEN had freshened up. He further added that the performance was unexpected from the stable. His comments were noted. M Simmons was also cautioned on his continuous whip use in the run to the finish. Post-race sample collected.
RACE 3 – FURNEYS HORSELAND PACE – 1720 metres
GABBYS IDEAL – Pre-race blood sample collected. Leaving the 400 metres sustained a flat tyre when contacted by CAMANCHI WARRIOR .
LUCKY LYLA – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to a position in the running line at the tail of the field at the 1500 metres. Post-race sample collected.
ALL SPRUCED UP – When unable to be restrained in the early stages elected to work forward three wide to obtain the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres.
CAMANCHI WARRIOR – Leaving the 1400 metres when over racing has improved onto the back of GABBYS IDEAL contacting that runner’s sulky wheel. Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
BEAST MODE – Declared a late scratching at 11.42am on vets advice.
RACE 4 – GARRARDS COBRA GIG SERIES HEAT 2 – 1720 metres
WHY NOTT – Pre-race blood sample collected. Held up for clear racing room until obtaining a run to the inside of SHESA POCKETROCKET at the 100 metres. Post-race sample collected.
MISS NEA STAR – Raced three wide from the start until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1500 metres.
SHESA POCKETROCKET – Hung out under pressure in the run to the finish. A warning was issued. Driver J O’Shea was cautioned on his whip use shortly after the start.
REMEMBER BUBBLES – Unable to obtain clear racing room until the final 100 metres.
WARRA DOWNS – When over racing became unbalanced and broke stride leaving the 1000 metres. A warning was issued.
RACE 5 – NSWSOA 2021/22 BONUS SERIES PACE – 2120 metres
DIGGER SHED – Surrendered the lead to IM MAJOR HARRY at the 1850 metres.
RICK – Checked at the 350 metres when improving onto the back of the tiring SHARP SHOOTER.
IM MAJOR HARRY – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to the lead at the 1850 metres.
SHARP SHOOTER – Caught racing three wide until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1650 metres. Tired over the final 400 metres to be beaten 90 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Driver N Hurst was queried on the overall performance of the gelding. N Hurst stated he had to do more work than anticipated to obtain the position outside the leader in the early stages, although obtaining cover in the middle stages of the race the gelding was disappointing in today’s event. Connections were advised the gelding will have to requalify on one occasion.
KAMENDABLE JOE – Approaching the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued.
HOLD MY HALO – Pre-race blood sample collected. Worked forward three wide from the 1800 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1500 metres.
CASSIUS DECK – Post-race sample collected.
RACE 6 – ORANA WOOL & SCRAP METAL PACE 2120 metres
JACOBS THUNDER – Unable to hold the lead when challenged for the position by BEST BEAU at the 750 metres.
CAESARS ROCKSTAR – Approaching the 250 metres had a tendency to shift in under pressure resulting in JAYTEES HAT being placed in restricted racing room for a short distance.
ROYAL FEELING – Leaving the 300 metres contacted the sulky wheel of BRADNESS ABUELA.
JAYTEES HAT – When leaving the 250 metres was momentarily placed in restricted racing room when racing to the inside of CAESARS ROCKSTAR.
OUR BIG SLOW NZ – Declared a late scratching at 1.50pm on vets advice.
BEST BEAU – Pre-race blood sample collected. Had a tendency to over race throughout the event due to the tempo of the race. Worked forward three wide from the 1000 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 750 metres. Trainer/driver G Rue was questioned on the perceived improved performance of the gelding. G Rue stated the gelding had only entered his stable eight weeks ago and had seen a marked improvement in the gelding since entering his stable . He further added the gelding won a trial in good time at Bathurst on Monday, 19 July. Due to how he gelding had been working and trialling he was expecting a forward showing in today’s event. Post-race sample collected.
BRADNESS ABUELA – Sustained a flat tyre when leaving the 300 metres.
RACE 7 – WESTSIDE IGA PACE – 2120 metres
JUZ BUTTER – Slow to begin when the start was affected. Checked at the 1100 metres when shifting wider to avoid KULANI COURAGE.
NICKY BROOK – Tired over the final 400 metres to be beaten some distance. Driver J Pay was questioned on his tactics in the middle stages of the event in particular his decision to attempt to hold the lead when challenged for that position at the 1100 metres. J Pay stated the instructions were to lead if possible, when challenged for the lead at the 1200 metres by WHISKIESONTHEBEACH he attempted to hold that position considering the instructions given pre-race. He further added that after being challenged for 100 metres he elected to surrender the lead. Although the mare did tire over the concluding stages he was not totally disappointed in the overall performance. His comments were noted.
JAYJAYBENNY – Worked forward three wide from the 1400 metres, when racing three wide passing the 1100 metres had a tendency to hang in resulting in LOVIN EVERYDAY being taken down onto KULANI COURAGE who broke stride. As no one horse or driver was solely to blame for this incident no action was taken.
KULANI COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample collected. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1800 metres. When leaving the 1100 metres had a tendency to hang out and as a result contacted the sulky of LOVIN EVERYDAY who had been taken down the track slightly, and was checked and broke. As no one horse or driver was solely to blame for this incident no further action was taken.
CHASE THE FEELING – Caught racing three wide until being restrained to the tail of the field at the 1800 metres. Checked when shifting wider to avoid KULANI COURAGE at the 1100 metres.
LOVIN EVERYDAY – Raced three wide with a trail to the 1800 metres ,then continued to work forward to obtain the position outside the leader at the 1600 metres. When leaving the 1100 metres was tightened for racing room when racing between KULANI COURAGE and JAYJAYBENNY.
WHISKIESONTHEBEACH – Worked forward three from the 1750 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1500 metres. Worked forward to the lead at the 1200 metres. Post-race sample collected.
RACE 8 – THE TAB APP 2YO PACE – 1720 metres
IM NOT COMPLICATED – Surrendered the lead to RUMBLIN at the 1500 metres. Post-race sample collected.
RUMBLIN – Worked forward to the lead at the 1500 metres.
DAYLIGHT – Stewards adjourned an inquiry into driver J Brown’s whip use in the run to the finish to a date to be
Driver J Brown was fined the sum of $200 under rule 156(2)(a) in that he crossed his reins and applied the whip with a free hand in the home straight on the final occasion
EBLOUISSANT – Raced three wide from the start until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1500 metres.
TIGER TOMMY NZ – Contacted the sulky and was severely checked and broke when BEN DETTO broke stride at the 1250 metres.
BEN DETTO – Pre-race blood sample collected. When leaving the 1300 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. Connections were advised the gelding would have to requalify on one occasion.
