After considering the explanation provided by Mr Grimson stewards determined to note his comments.

Mr Trainor advised stewards that having spoken to the trainer Jason Grimson it is his belief that they would look to get the gelding re – shod before it races again. A Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Trainor stewards determined to note his comments.

TASTY DELIGHT – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres. Driver Blake Fitzpatrick advised stewards prior to the All Clear, that he wished to review the video replay of the concluding stages of the event and after doing so elected to lodge a protest against the winner TITIAN RAIDER, alleging interference over the final 50 metres. After taking evidence from Glenn McElhinney the driver of TITIAN RAIDER and Blake Fitzpatrick the driver of TASTY DELIGHT it was established that over the final 150 metres of the event both runners had raced tightly and had gradually commenced to shift down the track towards the marker pegs until a point inside the final 50 metres where the near side sulky wheel of TITIAN RAIDER was racing to the outside of TASTY DELIGHT had gained an advantage over TASTY DELIGHT and slipped in front of the off side sulky wheel of that runner. Mr Fitzpatrick advised stewards that he believed he was unable to fully drive his runner out over the concluding stages and as a result he lost momentum. Mr McElhinney believed that it was just tight racing and that TITIAN RAIDER had already gained an advantage over TASTY DELIGHT at that stage and therefore no interference was suffered to TASTY DELIGHT. After considering the objection stewards could not be satisfied that the minimal interference to TASTY DELIGHT which occurred so close to the finish had any bearing on the ultimate result of the event and dismissed the protest, issuing the All Clear on the judge’s numbers of 4, 6, 2 & 3.

RACE 8 – ULTRA AIR TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP – 2300 metres

KYVALLEY BOOMERANG – Pre race blood sample.
