RACE 1 – HILLTOPS EQUINE CENTRE PACE – 1720 metres

 

IRISH SPEED – Unable to obtain a clear run in the home straight.

SON OF DOBBY – Driver M Muscat momentarily dropped his foot from the sulky rest near the 200 metres, when questioned regarding this; he stated that it slipped down when he was reaching for the gelding’s ear plug chord. M Muscat was reminded of his obligations under the rules. Post-race swab sampled.

BLACK DERBY – Held up for clear running until leaving the 100 metres.

VALENTEENO – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event. Driver M Rue dropped his foot from the sulky rest approaching the 400 metres, when questioned regarding this; he stated that he momentarily became unbalanced when attempting to ease REASON TO BE wider on the track while also pulling the gelding’s ear plug chord. Given the circumstances no action was taken.

CARRAMAR TIMES UP – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

CRIME TIME – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 2 – HES WATCHING @ TIPPERARY PACE – 1720 metres

 

HEAVENLY WISDOM – Held up for clear running in the home straight and contacted the sulky wheel of HARPERS SPIRIT leaving the 100 metres and blundered. Driver D Druitt was questioned regarding this incident and stated that he was not attempting to take a run to the inside of that runner at that stage, as he was aware that there was not sufficient room, but the mare improved between that runner and IM A SHY GUY and contacted the sulky wheel as a result. As the patrol footage supported D Druitt’s evidence, no action was taken.

HARPERS SPIRIT – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres. Sulky contacted by HEAVENLY WISDOM leaving the 100 metres.

ADAMS IT – Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1400 metres, for which a warning was issued. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages of the race.

ONETWO THREECHEESE – Post-race swab sampled.

DANCE BABY DANCE – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 3 – CORDINA CHICKEN FARMS PACE – 2100 metres

 

SPORTS BOUNTY – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

WONGALEA PENNY – Declared a late scratching at 2.55pm due to float breakdown.

FULLON – Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

HURRIKANE DUDE – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from SPORTS BOUNTY approaching the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

ROYALHOTSHOT – Pre-race swab sampled.

PETES ART MAJOR – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

MENDOZA LASS – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

SPORT CADET – Trainer M Muscat was fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding to race wearing gear which was different to which had been declared. Placed under pressure at various stages to maintain its position in the field and tired over the concluding stages of the race. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Trainer/Driver M Muscat stated that at its last start at Parkes, it pulled hard, and with the extra distance of tonight’s race he took its hood off in an endeavour to get it to settle and be able to run out the trip. He added that this was only the gelding’s second start for him, and he had initially put the hood on, tonight however without it the gelding was unresponsive to his urgings and he would be adjusting its gear again prior to its next start. He further added that he was also unsure if the gelding had backed up from its run at Parkes on the 30th of July.

 

RACE 4 – AMBOS STOCKFEEDS PACE – 1720 metres

 

MANGOCHILILIME – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

THREES A CHARM – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

DOT AYOU – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field near the 1000 metres.

BILLYSBREDONE – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field near the 1200 metres.

TOPSIE GRINNER – Pre-race swab sampled.

KINGSTON SHANNON – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

CAMBO BLASTER – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

CRIME DON’T PAY – Unable to obtain a clear run in the home straight.

 

RACE 5 – DONGES SUPA IGA LADYSHIP PACE – 1720 metres

 

HEAVENLY SONG – Pre-race swab sampled.

UROC BABY NZ – Tightened for room when racing to the inside of CONSTANTINA near the 1400 metres, when that runner shifted-in. Checked from behind the tiring CONSTANTINA leaving the 400 metres.

CONSTANTINA – Driver J Brown was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that near the 1400 metres he shifted the mare in when not sufficiently clear of UROC BABY NZ which was tightened for room. Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

SHOOBEES CHARM – Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 6 – QUAYLE MILLING PACE – 1720 metres

 

NIGHTWATCH STAR – Hung-in and raced roughly leaving the 1600 metres. Hung-in under pressure over the concluding stages of the race.

INDIANA ANGEL – Pre-race swab sampled.

ROLL ALONG JANE – Held up for clear running until leaving the 100 metres.

DIGGER SHED – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader approaching the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 7 – SOUTHWEST TRACTORS PACE – 2100 metres

 

HARD TO LOVE – Post-race swab sampled.

KHAWAJA – Broke gait free of interference approaching the 800 metres and again near the 600 metres, connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

CHARLIE STUDLEIGH – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Hung-out under pressure in the home straight.

SOME STONE – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 8 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE – 1720 metres

 

GRACENAVA – Hung-in approaching the 200 metres for which a warning was issued, as a result FULL OF WISDOM contacted its sulky wheel, resulting in Driver M McCaffery being almost dislodged from his sulky. M McCaffery was then caught sitting in the dust sheet of the sulky with limited control of the filly, leaving the 200 metres the filly became unbalanced and blundered badly, as a result KULANI COURAGE made heavy contact with the sulky of GRACENAVA and fell. Furthermore, SHEZA CRACKER  made heavy contact with the sulky of KULANI COURAGE and fell. M McCaffery was examined by the on-course paramedics and cleared of any significant injuries.

HIGHLY RESPECTED – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

KULANI COURAGE – Trainer M Rue was fined $50 under Rule 210 for not declaring a Driver for the gelding by the required time. Made heavy contact to the sulky of GRACENAVA leaving the 200 metres, when that runner blundered, and fell. A post-race Veterinary examination, revealed the gelding to have lacerations to both knees and a laceration above its right eye which were treated. Connections were advised that it would be stood down from racing for a period of 28 days and that they would be required to provide a Veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding prior to its next race start. Driver M Rue was examined by the on-course paramedics and cleared of any significant injuries.

ROLLA ROCKET – Declared a late scratching at 2.55pm due to float breakdown.

FULL OF WISDOM – Contacted the sulky wheel of GRACENAVA approaching the 200 metres, when that runner hung-in.

SHEZA CRACKER – Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-in near the 600 metres. Hung-in and raced roughly near the 400 metres, connections were advised the filly would be placed on its last chance to race truly. Made heavy contact to the sulky of KULANI COURAGE leaving the 200 metres, when that runner fell, and fell. A post-race Veterinary examination, revealed the filly to have lacerations to its right shoulder and right hip which were treated. Connections were advised that they would be required to provide a Veterinary certificate of fitness for the filly prior to its next race start. Driver J Locke was examined by the on-course paramedics and cleared of any significant injuries.
