THE STUNNING NUN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Luke McCarthy the driver of FAIRY TINKABELL NZ advised Stewards prior to the declaration of All Clear that he wished to view the films of the final 200 metres of the event with regards to THE STUNNING NUN NZ shifting out under pressure.  After viewing the films Mr McCarthy elected to exercise his right to lodge a protest alleging that THE STUNNING NUN NZ had shifted out under pressure for the duration of the home straight and at a point passing the 100 metres had encroached on the racing line of FAIRY TINKABELL NZ causing that runner to have to be steadied away from THE STUNNING NUN NZ and lose momentum as a result of the incident.  After considering the objection Stewards were unable to be satisfied to the requisite degree that had the interference not occurred passing the 100 metres that FAIRY TINKABELL NZ would have overcome the half neck margin to THE STUNNING NUN NZ and as a result the protest was dismissed.  At a subsequent inquiry driver Cameron Hart was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(www)(a) for failing to make sufficient effort to present the mare from shifting out under pressure in the home straight.  Post-race swab sample.
