Supplementary Report: Dubbo 26/12/21: Race 6:

Trainer / Driver Ms V Benett, the driver of EIGHT GAUGE, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), stating that, for some distance approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion she allowed EIGHT GAUGE to shift in when insufficiently clear of BRADNESS JOHNNY, which was crowded, had to be steadied for a considerable distance and lost running to which it was entitled. Ms Benett’s license to drive in races was suspended for 7 days, to commence at midnight 6/1/22.

 

RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres

YARRAMAN MARKLE – Underwent a pre – race veterinary examination and was determined fit to compete.

NODDYS LIFE – Raced intractably during the score up and hung out, then rounding the first turn broke stride and galloped and after being restrained, galloped again entering the back straight. Trainer / driver D Chapple said that NODDYS LIFE would be spelled. Notwithstanding this advice, Mr Chapple was told that NODDYS LIFE would be placed outside the mobile barrier draw and would be required to perform tractably in an official qualifying trial before racing again.

PAY ME SMART NZ – A pre – race blood sample was taken. A post – race urine sample was obtained.

MIRARI – Broke stride and galloped rounding the turn after the start, then again on entering the straight on the first occasion. Connections were advised that prior to racing again MIRARI must perform satisfactorily in an official qualifying trial.

CRUISEN ON BYE – Trainer / driver Mr R Williams was told that the mare would now be allowed to be placed in the mobile barrier draw.

MUDDY MONTANA – Hung out near the 600 metres, made contact with the wheel of the sulky of SWEET SUNSHINE. Broke stride and galloped. Trainer / driver Mr D Mackney was advised that a warning would be placed on the horses racing record.  

RACE 2 – BENEFICIAL SAFETY TRAINING PACE – 1609 metres

FREDDIES DELIGHT – Driver Mr P Grima was found guilty of a charge under AR 156(2)(a) stating that rounding the home turn and in the home straight, he applied the whip in a manner that exceeded a wrist only flicking motion and engaged the shoulder. Mr Grima was fined $200. Further, Mr Grima was cautioned in relation to not allowing sufficient time for FREDDYS DELIGHT to respond to being struck with the whip. A post – race urine sample was obtained.

GOJOE – Driver G Shepherdson was cautioned in relation to his whip use in the early part of the home straight.

OUR BUSHWACKER – Underwent a pre - race veterinary examination and was determined fit to compete.

WHOSAGINGER – Pre – race blood sample was taken.

APOLLON – Experienced difficulty obtaining clear running at the entrance to the home straight, could not be placed under pressure thereafter and went to the finish without being fully tested

RACE 3 – FM 88.9 TAMWORTH PACE – 1609 metres

PENULTIMA – Was slow to begin.

JIGGY RHYTHM - A post – race urine sample was obtained.

BLISSFULL IDENTITY – Pre – race blood sample was taken.

RACE 4 – GOLDEN GUITAR PACEWAY – TAMWORTH PACE – 1980 metres

WESTERN RICKI – Struck the mobile barrier arm in the score up, became unbalanced, shifted out abruptly into the path of SHEZA ROCKSTAR which was forced wider, resulting in DARK SIDE NZ being checked severely and Maddison Simon being dislodged from the sulky. After this DARK SIDE NZ shifted into the path of LAKER which was also checked severely resulting in Caitlyn McElhinney being dislodged from the sulky. A false start was declared. DARK SIDE NZ and LAKER was subsequently inspected by the clubs veterinary officer and declared fit to compete. Drivers M Simons and C McElhinney who were attended by the on course paramedics had sustained no injury and fulfilled their engagements. Trainer / driver Ms C Sutherland was advised that the provision of a last chance placed in the mobile barrier draw would be placed on WESTRN RICKI’s racing record.

WELL THATS ALRIGHT – Had to be checked and shifted in at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion to avoid KING KULAFU which broke stride.

BLISSFULL DONNA – A pre – race blood sample was taken. A post – race urine sample was obtained.

KING KULAFU – Broke stride and galloped at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion. Trainer / driver Mr D Chapple was advised that prior to racing again KING KULAFU must perform satisfactorily in an official qualifying trial.

RACE 5 – LOUNGES PLUS EPIC AFTER CHRISTMAS SALE PACE – 1609 metres

IT AINT ROYAL – Locked wheels with ALWAYS BOPPING in the early part of the home straight and was unbalanced for a short distance.

HEAVENLY SONG – Broke stride and galloped passing the 300 metres. Trainer / driver Miss C McElhinney was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

CHRISTIAN SHANNON – A post – race urine sample was obtained.

DIESEL DON – A pre – race blood sample was taken.

RUM DELIGHT NZ – Was held up for some distance rounding the home turn.

ALWAYS BOPPING – Locked wheels with IT AINT ROYAL in the early part of the home straight and was unbalanced for a short distance.

RACE 6 – MULTIQUIP TRANSPORT PACE – 1609 metres

SMILING – Sustained a gear malfunction with the near side hopple breaking rounding the turn after the start. Broke stride, galloped and was restrained out of the race.

MY KINDA JUSTUS – A pre – race blood sample was taken.  

SHES SO BRAVE – Was forced wider rounding the turn after the start to avoid SMILING which was galloping. Weakened from the 600 metres. A post – race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Mr A Missen was advised that prior to racing again SHES SO BRAVE must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

ROGER THAT – A post – race urine sample was obtained.

YELLOW BOW – Had to be checked rounding the turn after the start to avoid SMILING which was galloping.

RACE 7 – PUB GROUP GOLD NUGGET TUESDAY 11 JAN PACE – 1980 metres

DOTHEDEALDYLAN – When questioned in relation to the performance of DOTHEDEALDYLAN driver J Coney explained that after establishing the lead which was her pre – race intention, DOTHEDEALDYLAN travelled well, however was continually pressured in the early and middle stages by FAISELLE. She said that the gelding resented this and when she attempted to go forward from the 600 metres it did not respond and weakened, which in her opinion was due to the continued presence of FAISELLE on its outside. A post – race veterinary examination revealed DOTHEDEALDYLAN displayed a slow recovery rate.  

MANLY BOY – Locked wheels with WOTNOW SWANEE which broke stride at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion, had to be checked and the driver M Simon became extremely unbalanced in the seat.

FAISELLE - A post – race urine sample was obtained.

NOR WESTA – Had to be checked and shifted wider at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion to avoid WOTNOW SWANEE.

BRIE – Had to be checked and shifted wider at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion.

WOTNOW SWANEE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages, then rounding the turn into the home straight on the first occasion broke stride and galloped. Trainer / driver Ms C McElhinney advised that the provision of last chance to race truly would be placed on the geldings racing record.

PEGGY SUE SHANNON – Was hampered and had to be shifted in at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion to avoid WOTNOW SWANEE.

OUR MASTER GEORGE NZ – Had to be checked and shifted very wide rounding the turn into the home straight on the first occasion to avoid runners shifting wider that were forced to avoid WOTNOW SWANEE. Broke near side carrying strap during this incident.

ZOEMAGIC – A pre – race blood sample was taken. Driver Ms E Ison was fined $50 under AR 162(1)(h) for failing to maintain her position on the gate at the start.

RACE 8 – HYGAIN TRACKTORQUE PACE – 1980 metres

LYNTON CREEK NZ – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver J Coney explained that the gelding travelled relatively well outside the lead in the early and middle stages, however in her opinion the tempo was very strong. Ms Coney said that entering the back straight on the final occasion she urged LYNTON CREEK NZ forward to go to the lead and after gaining some response LYNTON CREEK NZ was continually under pressure. Ms Coney said that inside the 300 metres despite her efforts, LYNTON CREEK NZ weakened and was disappointing in the run to the finish. A post – race veterinary examination revealed the gelding displayed a slow recovery rate.

CASHWRANGS SMOKER - A pre – race blood sample was taken.

SOMEBEACHSOMEGIFT – Trainer / driver Mr A Varga was reprimanded AR 170(1)(b) for allowing his left foot to drop below the sulky when activating gear. A post – race urine sample was obtained.
