RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2030 metres

SULTAN FELLA – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

AMERICAN KESTREL – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Post-race urine sample was obtained.

CLOUDIN UP – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver G Panella explained that CLOUDIN UP travelled relatively well during the early and middle stages, however rounding the turn out of the straight after receiving the bell she was forced to shift wider sooner than she intended to race around CARIBBEAN SPICE which did not go forward at that point and weakened.  Miss Panella advised that after this CLOUDIN UP was exposed in a three wide position and after gaining a moderate response when placed under pressure at the 600 metres the gelding weakened from the 400 metres and was disappointing.

CARIBBEAN SPICE – When questioned in relation to the performance, trainer/driver D Carmody explained that after travelling well in a prominent position in the early stages he attempted to go forward rounding the turn after receiving the bell however the mare failed to respond to his urgings and when further pressured in the back straight on the final occasion, it weakened and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Mr Carmody was advised that a poor performance warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

CANONLYBEONESIR – When questioned in relation to the performance driver R Morris explained that after the start he was in a rearward position which was unsuitable given the tempo which he felt was slow at this time.  He said that because of this in the back straight on the first occasion he drove forward in an attempt to gain the lead if possible however CANONLYBEONESIR hung in and did not improve quickly.  He said that after obtaining a position outside the leader he was unable to continue to go forward and was forced to race in that position where the gelding continually hung in, then inside the 600 metres CANONLYBEONESIR commenced to weaken and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

RACE 2 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres

MISTERFIRE – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

ROBYN TAYLOR – Raced roughly when weakening inside the 300 metres.

SUNDAY SESH – Raced in restricted room in the early part of the home straight and had to be shifted out to go forward inside the 100 metres.  Post-race urine sample was obtained.

CALL ME MATTY – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

RACE 3 – PITCHER PARTNERS PACE – 2030 metres

JUST FEELNGOOD – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Contacted by the wheel of LEMBONGAN LYF in the early part of the straight, became unbalanced, blundered and was checked.

ARMA VEYRON – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to competing at Tamworth on 6 January 2022 and was declared fit to compete.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had sustained an abrasion to its off hind leg and was 2/5 lame in the same leg.  Trainer Mr D Elder was advised that prior to racing again ARMA VEYRON must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness to compete.

LEMBONGAN LYF – Hung out despite the efforts of its driver in the early part of the home straight and made contact with JUST FEELNGOOD.  Trainer/driver Mr B Pringle was advised that a warning for racing intractably would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

ENEMY LINES – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

BABY GINNIE – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

RACE 4 – GARRARDS HORS & HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

MISS CIRIELLO – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Post-race urine sample was obtained.

WAYOUTWEST – Held up for a considerable distance in the home straight, had to be shifted out near the 70 metres to obtain clear running and went to the finish without being fully tested.

MIAMI SURF – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

PLEASE SHUDDUP NZ – Held up for a considerable distance in the home straight and could not be fully tested.

RACE 5 – PSC INSURANCE PACE – 1609 metres

YOHA NZ – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

HIDDEN DELIGHT NZ – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

GIDDY HEIGHTS NZ – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

IMPERIALS GEM – Broke stride and galloped in the score up and was out of position.  Connections were advised that IMPERIALS GEM would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

TYGAR – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Slow to begin.

RACE 6 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 2030 metres

ROCK DE ARK – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Galloped at the start.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

CAPTAIN DORIAN – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Galloped at the start.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

SMOKE MY MOTOR – When questioned in relation to the performance driver J Callaghan explained that SMOKE MY MOTOR raced ungenerously after obtaining a position outside the lead in the early stages and when placed under pressure inside the 500 metres did not respond and was disappointing in its finishing effort.  He said that in his opinion the mare resented racing in the position outside the lead and would be better suited to racing behind another runner during the race.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

RAINING ON RINGO NZ – Slow to begin.

MANLY MACH – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

RACE 7 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 2030 metres

RADIANT ROSE – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

MISS PIGGY WIGGY – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

MISS SONIC BOOM – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

RACE 8 – WWW.NEWCASTLEHARNESS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

RONZEL GRINNER – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Trainer/driver Mr S Harmey will be interviewed in relation to his right foot dropping below the sulky shaft near the 100 metres.

WAITING FOR LOVE – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

THE THUG NZ – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

LIVINONTHEEDGE – When questioned in relation to his driving, R Atkins explained that even allowing for his wide barrier draw he was instructed to attempt to obtain a position in the lead or be placed prominently, as it was considered that the gelding performs best when allowed to stride freely at a solid tempo.  He said that in order to achieve this he drove vigorously rounding the turn after the start and was improving at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion when ADAMS IT shifted out and obliged him to race three wide.  He said that after this he was unable to clear ADAMS IT to go forward and obtain the position outside the lead and was thereafter forced to continue to race in a three wide line.  He said that inside the 300 metres this effort told on LIVINONTHEEDGE and the gelding weakened from that point.  Connections were advised that LIVINONTHEEDGE would now be replaced in the mobile barrier draw.
