RACE 1 – BROKEN HILL COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION PACE – 1900 metres

TACT TORY NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample

STYLISH GRIN – Over-raced throughout the middle stages of the event. Passing the 500 metres commenced to weaken over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten 43.6 meters. Stewards queried driver R Slater in relation to the performance of the mare, Mr Slater explained that his runner was first up from a long spell, which had caused his mare to race ungenerously. Mr Slater added that the mare resisted being restrained through the middle stages prior to weakening. Stewards noted his comments.

FLAME BLASTER- Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and as a result was not fully tested to the finish line.

OUTSTANDING SPEAKA – Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event prior to obtaining a position in the running line approaching the 1500 metres.

METRO IMAGE – Over- raced throughout the early and middle stages of the event.

RACE 2 – SILVER CITY EXPRESS PACE – 1900 metres

SQUATTER SHANNON – Broke gait in the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued.

LORNE BEACH – Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event, prior to restraining towards the rear of the field to obtain a position in the running line leaving the 1300 meters.

VICSTAR SHARAZZZ – Had a tendency to hang in at various stages of the event. A warning was issued. Approaching the 700 meters commenced to weaken over the concluding stages to be beaten 67.1 meters. A warning was issued. Stewards questioned driver A Camilleri into the performance of the gelding, Ms Camilleri stated that her runner didn’t appreciate the turns at any stage of the event and looked to hang in as a result. Ms Camilleri further added that the trainer will look to make gear adjustments before the gelding races again. A post-race veterinarian exam failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 3 – THE WORKERS CLUB PACE – 1900 metres

GOT NO IDEA – Inconvenienced during the score up when placed in restricted room as a result of KEAYANG BALBOA and HIDDEN FIGURE shifting down the track. Sustained a contact to the back of the sulky in the score up from WAITING FOR YOU as a result of the earlier tightening which had caused GOT NO IDEA to lose some ground which led to WAITING FOR YOU racing onto his back.   Momentarily tightened and contacted marker pegs upon entry to the first turn when KEAYANG BALBOA shifted down the track looking to obtain the lead.

KEAYANG BALBOA – Inconvenienced during the score up when tightened as a result of HIDDEN FIGURE breaking gait and veering down the track. Driver C Robinson was advised to take greater care in that approaching the first turn when driving KEAYANG BALBOA forward, she has allowed the gelding to shift down the track and place GOT NO IDEA in restricted room causing that runner to race inside a number of marker pegs. Post-race swab sample.

HIDDEN FIGURE – Contacted the mobile barrier arm whilst scoring up and subsequently broke gait, which resulted in KEAYANG BALBOA and GOT NO IDEA being inconvenienced. Stewards questioned driver A Stenhouse into the reasoning for the mare breaking gait in the score up. Mr Stenhouse explained that the mobile barrier had lost its momentum rounding the turn causing the speed to reduce at a crucial stage and as his mare was being driven forward, his mare contacted the mobile barrier arm. After considering the circumstances around the incident, no further action was taken.

COURTNEY KATARINA – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian in accordance with HRNSW’s welfare policy. No abnormalities were reported.

WAITING FOR YOU – Pre-race blood sample.  Checked and broke gait during the score and was out of position, as a result of contacting the back of the sulky of GOT NO IDEA after that runner had been inconvenienced and lost its momentum.

RACE 4 – PAEWAI SHEARING PACE – 1900 metres

RAPACIUOS - Post- race swab sample.

ARTISTIC COWBOY – Fractious in the early stages of the score up and galloped out as the start was effected. Stewards questioned driver K Hryhorec into the reasoning around the gelding galloping out. Ms Hryhorec stated that due to the slow speed of the mobile barrier in the early stages her runner was hesitant to fill its position behind the gate. Ms Hryhorec added that on the point of the turn the mobile had dramatically increased the speed which had left the gelding flat footed and as she began to urge her runner forward in order to be in position the gelding broke gait. After considering the circumstances no further action was taken.

SPRINGFIELD SHADOW – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian in accordance with HRNSW’s welfare policy. Leaving the 600 meters commenced to weaken to be beaten 59.5 meters. A warning was issued. Stewards queried driver M Riseley into the performance of the gelding. Mr Riseley could not offer any explanation to the performance of the gelding other than stating that his runner was first up and racing outside of the leader may not be the ideal way to drive the gelding.

THE MONEY BALL – Passing the 650 meters commenced to improve three wide until the finish. Driver C Robinson was cautioned for the manner in which she applied the whip over the concluding stages.

ELECT TO ROCK – Checked and had to be steadied wider after the start as a result of ARTISTIC COWBOY breaking gait as the start was effected. Upon request from connections and in view of the gelding’s recent record, ELECT TO ROCK was re-included into the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 5 – BROKEN HILL TRUCK CENTRE PACE – 1900 metres

ARTISTICBUTNAUGHTY – Pre-race blood sample.

ROJENBYE – Whilst under pressure had a tendency to shift out.

CARBNSODA – Broke gait in the latter stages of the score up, was out of position as the start was effected and as a result took no competitive in the event. In view of the mare’s recent record, connections were advised that CARBNSODA would be continued outside of the mobile barrier draw. Passing the 1350 meters became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
