RACE 1 – HRNSW LADYSHIP PACE – 1740 metres

 

OMBRA ARTOIS – Hung-out upon entering the home straight for which a warning was issued, as a result SANDYS IDEAL NZ contacted its sulky wheel and was checked and broke gait.

WHEREYABINTWISTIN – Post-race swab sampled.

SANDYS IDEAL NZ – Contacted the sulky wheel of OMBRA ARTOIS entering the home straight, when that runner hung-out, and was checked and broke gait.

SECRET BLING – Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.

SCREENTIME – Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-in and contacted marker pegs near the 200 metres.

KEAYANG TREASURE – Inconvenienced approaching the 100 metres when SANDYS IDEAL NZ broke gait.

 

RACE 2 – HES WATCHING @ TIPPERARY EQUINE PACE – 1740 metres

 

FLANEUR – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

FREDEE TEE – Pre-race swab sampled. Worked forward to take over the lead from FREDEE TEE leaving the 1400 metres. Tightened for room approaching the 1000 metres when METALLICA MAN shifted-in. Driver D Perrot was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the gelding, he stated it was first up today and while it had won its trial leading into the race it was only ran in a moderate time. He added that he had to work a little harder in the early stages of the race than he would have preferred, and given those circumstances, he was not too disappointed with its effort.

METALLICA MAN – Over-raced during the early stages of the event. Worked forward to take over the lead from FREDEE TEE near the 1000 metres. Shifted-in approaching the 1000 metres, placing FREDEE TEE in restricted room; Driver B Harpley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances in future. Hung-in under pressure upon entering the home straight, Driver B Harpley was reminded of his obligations to ensure if his runner is leading and enters the sprint lane to shift it back out at his first opportunity to do so safely. Post-race swab sampled.

LUCKY STARZZZ – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn, prior to obtaining a run in the sprint lane.

 

RACE 3 – ULTIMATE MACHETE @ TIPPERARY EQUINE PACE – 2270 metres

 

LA MINACCIA – Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

CALL ME DRAGON – Post-race swab sampled.

THE LURKER – Pre-race swab sampled.

HEZA CONMAN – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1800 metres. Tired over the concluding stages of the race. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Driver D Perrot stated that it was scouring during the middle stages of the race and was of the view this was the reason for its poor performance tonight.

 

RACE 4 – STEEL SUPPLIES PACE – 1740 metres

 

ABS TENANTS NZ – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

MOVIN ON UP – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Trainer G Lang for the late declaration of Driver for the mare. Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres.

DUST TO DIAMONDS – Post-race swab sampled.

ULAANBAATAR – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event. Raced roughly near the 400 metres.

MISSKONTIKI – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

ROLL ALONG JANE – Pre-race swab sampled.

REDBANK HARRY – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

TASHS SPARTAN – Held up for clear running until near the 50 metres.

 

RACE 5 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1740 metres

 

STREAMLINER – Pre-race swab sampled.

BILLYSBREDONE – Tightened momentarily entering the first turn when racing to the inside of FLEETWOOD ROCK which hung-in. Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to obtain a position with cover in the running line near the 1400 metres. Over-raced while being restrained in the early stages of the event. Unable to obtain a clear run in the home straight.

SPEED OF SOUND – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event. Post-race swab sampled.

FLEETWOOD ROCK – Hung-in entering the first turn, for which a warning was issued. Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1400 metres.

 

RACE 6 – HARNESS TRADING RING AUSTRALIA PACE – 1740 metres

 

TAYLAHS ACE – Post-race swab sampled.

MILLYS PRINCE – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 7 – VILLAGE JOLT @ LOCHEND STUD PACE – 1740 metres

 

KAMENDABLE FEELING – Fractious during the score-up, for which a warning was issued.

FUNNILY ENOUGH – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

RUN VIV RUN – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position in the running line at the rear of the field near the 1000 metres. Over-raced while being restrained in the early stages of the event.

ARTIMOS – Out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 8 – CONQUEST POOLS PACE – 2270 metres

 

KELVIN GROVE – Worked forward to take over the lead from OFFICIALLY SAID approaching the 1600 metres. Driver T Doherty was questioned regarding the sectional times he set for the first half of the last mile while leading, which was 0.2 seconds outside the required time. He stated that the filly was only having its third start and after he got to the lead he was tapping her up in an endeavour to go quicker but she didn’t respond until THE BIG FEELGOOD moved up next to her. Given the patrol footage supported T Doherty’s evidence, no action was taken. Post-race swab sampled.

THE BIG FEELGOOD – Driver D Druitt was dislodged from his sulky during the score-up when his sulky was contacted by the fractious REDBANK NEEDY resulting in a false start being declared. D Druitt was examined by the on-course paramedics and declared fit to continue driving.

BODACIOUS BREW – Out of position at the start at the second attempt to start the race, for which no action was taken.

REDBANK NEEDY – Pre-race swab sampled. Very fractious during the early part of the score-up and a false start was declared when it made contact with the sulky of THE BIG FEELGOOD dislodging Driver D Druitt from his sulky. Broke gait during the score-up at the second attempt to start the race and was out of position at the start. Connections were advised that it would continue to be placed outside the draw in mobile start races, and it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.
