Driver J.Gallagher advised he was indisposed and unable to attend today’s meeting resulting in the following late driving changes

Race 3 TORPEDO BART – R.Morris

Race 4 CANONLYBEONESIR – R.Morris

Race 5 MANY MACH – R.Morris

Race 6 DAN FERNANDO NZ – R.Morris

Driver J.Gallagher was advised a Medical Clearance will be required before he can return to race driving.

 

RACE 1 – TAB LONG MAY WE PACE – 1740 metres

THE BEST OF YOU – Pre-race blood test. 

CAN CAN DANCER – Worked forward before finding the lead passing the 1350 metres.  Post-race swab.

MAJOR NOAH WILLIAM – Pre-race blood test. 

SELMUN PLACE – Commenced to tire passing the 600 metres before being beaten 58 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent record SELMUN PLACE will be required to perform one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a lower than normal recovery rate and acting on veterinary advice SELMUN PLACE was stood down until an ECG is provided.

 

RACE 2 – CLUB CONDEL PARK M.H. TREUER MEMORIAL RACE DAY JUNE 13 PACE – 1740 metres

HURRIKANE BRIGADE – Commenced to tire passing the 400 metres before being beaten 51 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent record HURRIKANE BRIGADE will be required to perform one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

TWILIGHT HEAVEN – Post-race swab.

WHATTA CONK – Pre-race blood test.

ALL STAR MAGICIAN – Trainer’s D & K McDowell were fined $50 under Rule 273(6)(b) for failing to accurately record the gear for the gelding. Worked forward before finding a position outside the leader passing the 1450 metres.

HURRICANE STRIDE NZ – Pre-race blood test.

NITRO LAD – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excesses of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

 

RACE 3 – HIGH FLYER HOTEL PACE – 1740 metres

SNEAKY PEAK – Pre-race blood test.  Driver Chloe Formosa was questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in this event.  Of concern to the Stewards was the first half of the event being run in 56.5 seconds.  Ms Formosa said that she intended to take a sit on EXCELENTE but when rounding the first turn SNEAKY PEAK contacted its own sulky and began to over race and continued to over race throughout the event despite the efforts of Ms Formosa resulting in the fast 56.5 first half. Stewards took no further action against Ms Formosa and noted her comments.

THE ROYAL ROAN – Inconvenienced rounding the first turn when TORPEDO BART broke.

EXCELENTE – Fractious in the early stages of the score up and refused to turn and as a result a false start was declared.  In view of the gelding’s recent record a warning was placed on EXCELENTE.  Post-race swab.

MISS AEYLA – Checked rounding the first turn when TORPEDO BART broke.

JUSTADIVA – Checked rounding the first turn when TORPEDO BART broke.

TORPEDO BART – Hung in entering the first turn contacting marker pegs and became unbalanced and broke gait.  In view of the colt’s recent record a warning was placed on TORPEDO BART.

YARRAMAN MARKLE – Checked and broke rounding the first turn when TORPEDO BART broke.

FRANCO REBEL NZ – Sebastian Piltz was Indisposed and unable to fulfil his driving engagement today and as a result was advised a Medical Clearance would be required before he is able to resume race driving. Tony Piltz was approved as a late driver change.  Pre-race blood test.  Over raced in the early stages of the event before beginning to tire passing the 600 metres to be beaten 108.8 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent record FRANCO REBEL NZ will be required to perform one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 4 – STATEWIDE BUILDING AND RESTORATIONS PACE – 2140 metres

CANONLYBEONESIR – Pre-race blood test.  Broke in the score up causing a false start.  In view of the gelding’s recent record a warning was placed on CANONLYBEONESIR.

JACKS UP – Checked passing the 400 metres when YOU LITTLE TERROR was checked and raced roughly. 

TERROROAN – Pre-race blood test.  Hung in and over raced at various stages of the event.  Rounding the final turn hung in and raced roughly.  In view of the gelding’s recent record TERROROAN was placed on its last chance to race truly.

WINAMOTZA – Caught wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to find a position outside the leader passing the 1800 metres.

MAJOR MONDO – Over raced throughout the event.  Had its sulky contacted by YOU LITTLE TERROR when moving up the track.

LOUISIANA FREEDOM – Post-race swab.

YOU LITTLE TERROR – Passing the 400 metres when racing in a three wide position, began to move down the track contacting the sulky of MAJOR MONDO who was at the time moving up the track into the same position and TERROROAN was to the outside hanging in resulting in YOU LITTLE TERROR being checked and racing roughly. 

 

RACE 5 – S WILSON & ASSOCIATES PACE – 2140 metres

PIKARSO – Broke rounding the final turn.  In view of the gelding’s recent record a warning was placed against PIKARSO.

TEAM OF STARZZZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excesses of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Hung in at various stages of the event.  Inconvenienced in the home straight as a result of PIKARSO breaking gait.

GRACIE TALJUICE – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having not competed in almost 12 months.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Pre-race blood test. 

BETTOR SENSATION NZ – Caught wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1800 metres.  Severely checked and locked wheels with MANLY MACH in the concluding stages of the event as a result of PIKARSO galloping.  Driver Mason Beresford was spoken to in relation to being more aware of his surroundings in that he was unaware of PIKARSO galloping and he continued to drive his gelding forward which ultimately ended up with him locking wheels. 

MILITARY MAN NZ – Driver Chloe Formosa was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain her position behind the mobile.  Over raced throughout various stages of the event. 

CONSTANTINA – Post-race swab.

SHANOCON NZ – Pre-race blood test.  Inconvenienced in the home straight when PIKARSO broke gait.

MANLY MACH – Severely checked and locked wheels with BETTOR SENSATION NZ as a result of PIKARSO breaking gait.

 

RACE 6 – PRINTECH SOLUTIONS PACE – 1740 metres

CHANGE OF MIND – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excesses of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Hung in at various stages of the event before tiring to be beaten 55.5 metres.  In taking no further action Stewards were mindful of the gelding’s own individual mile rate being 2.00.5.

DAN FERNANDO NZ – Tightened and raced roughly shortly after the start.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 58.9 metres.  In taking no further action Stewards were mindful of the gelding’s own individual mile rate being 2.00.8.

MEGS MONARO – Pre-race blood test.  Hung in shortly after the start and tightened DAN FERNANDO NZ.  Tired over the concluding stages of the event to be beaten 61.3 metres.  In taking no further action Stewards were mindful of the gelding’s own individual mile rate being 2.00.9.

IN SHOOBEES SHOES – Post-race swab.

KATLAS DREAM – Pre-race blood test.  Hung in at various stages throughout the event.
