RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE – 2030 metres

AMUSED – Hampered as the field entered the first turn and as a result broke stride.

BIG TIME HUSTLER – Driver B Lindsay pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when approaching the first turn closed down the track and restricted the racing room of CHEVRONS BYPASS NZ which had followed through from the second line and as a result of this movement was forced down the track into the running of AMUSED which was hampered and as a result shifted up the track and ultimately broke stride checking the running of CHEVRONS BYPASS NZ who as a result raced roughly.  Driver B Lindsay’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days.  When considering penalty Stewards took into account her guilty plea in addition to driving record in relation to the Rule.

RACE 8 – HYPERWEB PACE – 1609 metres

DAN FERNANDO NZ – Had a tendency to over race whilst leading the event.  Stewards queried driver J Gallagher in relation to the performance.  J Gallagher explained to Stewards that after being positive in the early stages of the event to find the lead commenced to over race when rounding the first turn and was unable to ease the tempo throughout the early and middle stages of the event and believed this was the main contributing factor to it somewhat weakening over the concluding stages.

ITS ALLABOUT ALICE – Driver C Formosa was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after entering the home straight allowed her runner to shift wider on the track whereas a result hampered BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ (A Bond).

CAPTAIN DAN NZ – Broke stride shortly after the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ – Had a tendency to hang in rounding the first turn.  Driver A Bond was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when moving forward three wide rounding the first turn failed to make the required effort to prevent BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ from closing down the track whereas a result restricted the racing room of POPSTAROMAR which was hampered and raced roughly.

DHAULAGIRI NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

SUSIE REIGNMAKER NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Broke stride as the field left the back straight on the final occasion.  Connections were advised given its recent record that it would be required to complete one requalifying trial.
