RACE 1 – COROWA CHAFF MILL VALE LYAL HANCOCK – 1770 metres

General – Prior to the all-clear being given Driver E Bartley (TYGERPHINN) who had been placed third past the post, was given the opportunity to view the patrol footage of the race, to ascertain whether she had grounds to lodge a protest against the winner GLENLEA HANOVER. After viewing the film, E Bartley lodged an objection alleging interference over the concluding stages, stating that her runner had locked wheels with GLENLEA HANOVER when that runner shifted in resulting in her checking her runner. Evidence was taken from the Driver of GLENLEA HANOVER, R Coelli, and further evidence from E Bartley, and the patrol footage further reviewed. Stewards dismissed the protest as they were of the view that while GLENLEA HANOVER had hung-in slightly over the concluding stages, resulting in it locking wheels with TYGERPHINN and that runner being inconvenienced, they felt that they could not be satisfied to the required standard that had that interference not occurred that TYGERPHINN would have beaten GLENLEA HANOVER to the finish line, given the vicinity to the finish line where the interference occured, and all clear was given on the judge’s numbers.
