RACE 1 – GALLAGHER LITTLE RED JUG HEAT ONE – 1720 metres
General – The first five placegetters which made the LITTLE RED JUG FINAL were examined by the veterinary surgeon immediately following the race, again following race 3 and a final inspection was completed following the running of race 6.
MCLEAN – Rounding the first turn shifted in resulting in CAMANCHI WARRIOR contacting the inside sulky wheel of the gelding. Driver M Rue was reprimanded for causing interference. In assessing the incident, the panel was mindful that when MCLEAN was being shifted into the position ahead of CAMANCHI WARRIOR, BURRABADINE BULLET was being eased and CAMANCHI WARRIOR began to over-race and resented being restrained.
LIMBO LILLY – Post-race sample. Held up for clear racing room rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Jostled for clear racing room with CAMANCHI WARRIOR approaching the finish line.
TIME TO TORQUE – Held up for clear racing room and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.
CAMANCHI WARRIOR – Over-raced rounding the first turn when being restrained. Contacted the inside sulky wheel of MCLEAN at this stage. Jostled with LIMBO LILLY approaching the finish line.
ROCKNROLL RAIDER – Pre-race sample.
RACE 2 – GALLAGHER LITTLE RED JUG HEAT TWO – 1720 metres
General – The first five placegetters which made the LITTLE RED JUG FINAL were examined by the veterinary surgeon immediately following the race, again following race 3 and a final inspection was completed following the running of race 6.
PLAYBOI ROY – Pre-race sample. Over-raced during the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame. Acting upon veterinary advice was stood down to a veterinary certificate of fitness.
CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre-race sample. Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was unable to be fully tested at any stage.
SEVEN TEE TWO – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was unable to be fully tested at any stage.
SHELL SHOCK NZ – Post-race sample.
RACE 3 – ORANA WOOL & SCRAP METAL PACE – 1720 metres
TAKE OUT – Post-race sample.
DEEWHY – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
TERRAGONG SWINGER – Pre-race sample.
SCRUFFY MOTO – Galloped clear of interference racing into the back straight on the final occasion and a warning was issued. Dropped a knee boot at this stage.
BADOSA – Began to give ground leaving the winning post with one lap to travel. Paced roughly racing down the back straight on the final occasion, checking BULLI BELLE, which was trailing. Driver M Turnbull explained that connections were disappointed with the performance of the mare and added that he was at a loss to explain the performance. Mr Turnbull added that when the mare commenced to give ground he activated the removable ear plugs and the mare failed to respond. Tired to be beaten 113m and was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
WILLIES DOLLAR – Inconvenienced by SCRUFFY MOTO in the back straight on the final occasion when that runner galloped.
BULLI BELLE – Checked racing down the back straight on the final occasion behind BADOSA, which was giving ground and paced roughly. Shifted wider on the track as a result checking WHY NOTT which contacted the outside sulky wheel of BULLI BELLE and resulting in WHY NOTT stumbling.
WHY NOTT – Paced roughly when over-racing rounding the first turn and then paced roughly at different stages throughout. A warning was issued against the racing manners of the gelding. Checked racing down the back straight on the final occasion after BULLI BELLE, which was checked, was shifted wider on the track.
RACE 4 – DUBBO SHOW PRESIDENTS TROPHY PACE – 1720 metres
FATHERDAYSURPRISE – Post-race sample. Hung in and contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn.
EXCUSE TO CULLECT – Driver M Hutchings was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to his drive with more that a wrist only flicking action over the final 200m.
RUNLOCKYRUN – Galloped after the start and a warning was issued.
MONSTER MINT – Held up and unable to obtain clear racing room over the final 200m.
BODELETOS – Held up and unable to obtain clear racing room over the final 200m.
REVEILLE JET – Pre-race sample.
RACE 5 – REGIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK PACE – 1720 metres
SPORTY MICKILLA – Pre-race sample.
CALA GRECA – Gave ground to be beaten 39m.
ROSIE ROMANCE – Post-race sample.
VALENTINI – Held up and unable to obtain clear racing room over the final 200m.
BURNING HOT – Gave ground to be beaten 41m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from one nostril. Connections were advised that BURNING HOT was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
RACE 6 – 2DU PACE– 1720 metres
IRK MCGLURK – Post-race sample.
JOSEY MINT – Held up and unable to obtain clear racing room over the final 200m.
ERMINNIE QUINCE – Held up and unable to obtain clear racing room over the final 200m.
PEAKSART – Pre-race sample.
RACE 7 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1720 metres
KOSCIUSZKO – Pre-race sample. Entering the back straight on the final occasion hung out locking wheels and checking FOR A DREAM.
FOR A DREAM – Locked wheels with KOSCIUSZKO when that runner hung out entering the back straight on the final occasion.
LIMBO LOTTIE – Post-race sample.
RACE 8 – GALLAGHER LITTLE RED JUG FINAL – 1720 metres
General – The first five placegetters which made the LITTLE RED JUG FINAL were examined by the veterinary surgeon immediately following the race, again following race 3 and a final inspection was completed following the running of race 6.
Consideration was given to an objection lodged by Driver P Betts (LIMBO LILLY – second placegetter) against SHELL SHOCK NZ (J Coney) being declared the winner. Alleging interference entering the back straight on the final occasion and in the home straight on the final occasion. Upon review of the replays and evidence, Stewards were satisfied that SHELL SHOCK NZ was shifted into a three wide position in advance of LIMBO LILLY when clear to do so causing no interference. Furthermore, were satisfied that in the home straight SHELL SHOCK NZ did shift out under pressure however were comfortably satisfied that SHELL SHOCK NZ did so with no interference to LIMBO LILLY. Subsequently the objection of Driver Betts was dismissed and All Clear announced on the judge’s numbers.
PLAYBOI ROY – Declared a late scratching at 7:47pm on veterinary advice after it was found the gelding to be lame.
DESIDERIO – Pre-race sample. Gave ground to be beaten 48m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
MCLEAN – Pre-race sample. Raced in restricted room close to the finish line.
LIMBO LILLY – Pre-race sample. Lodged a protest against the winner SHELL SHOCK NZ, which was dismissed.
SHELL SHOCK NZ – Pre-race sample. Post-race sample. Withstood a protest. Shifted out under pressure.
