RACE 1 – COACHMAN HOTEL PACE – 1660 metres
LINE ME UP BRO NZ – Post-race swab sample.
MAJOR ARK – Pre-race blood sample.
HUMMING TOP – Driver S Adams was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when leaving the 1300 metres when shifting her runner down the track has done so when insufficiently clear of BULLI BELLE and as a result that runner was tightened for racing room.
INTHEBLINKOFANEYE – Leaving the 1300 metres was inconvenienced when racing to the inside of BULLI BELLE who had been tightened for racing room. Gave ground over the final 300 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 60.5 metres. A warning was placed on the mare’s racing manners.
BULLI BELLE – Leaving the 1300 metres was checked when tightened for racing room as a result of HUMMING TOP shifting down the track when insufficiently clear,
RACE 2 – TAB.COM.AU PACE – 1660 metres
GLENN FORD NZ – Pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Pre-race blood sample. Driver J Turnbull was issued a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(www)(ii) in that when entering the home straight on the final occasion has allowed his runner to shift up the track in the run to the finish.
CAM I AM – Checked between the 600 metres and 400 metres when trailing ALPHA XENA who was giving ground.
EXCUSE TO CULLECT – Trainer M Hutchings was questioned on the perceived improved performance of the gelding. He said recently he has removed the shoes from the gelding and has also changed the work leading into the event had contributed to an improved performance of the gelding in tonight’s event. Post-race swab sample.
LADY ROCKABELLUM – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 3 – PARKES FORD/KIA PACE – 1660 metres
SERGEANT PEE JAY – Inconvenienced between the 200 and 150 metres when trailing MAKES YOU WONDER who was yielding ground.
MISS BLUE STORK – When negotiating the first turn was checked when locking wheels with WATCH CARINAS LASS. As no one horse or driver could solely be to blame, no further action was taken. Approaching the 200 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. Considering the mare’s recent record MISS BLUE STORK would be required to requalify on one occasion.
MAMMALS BLAZE – When negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid the runners who had locked wheels in advance.
MUSCLE TOWN – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
WATCH CARINAS LASS – Negotiating the first turn shifted out marginally locking wheels with MISS BLUE STORK. As no one horse or driver was solely to blame for this incident no further action was taken.
RACE 4 – PEAK HILL BIRTHPLACE OF CHAMPIONS PACE – 1660 metres
RIVERINA FLASH – Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.
ENJABONARLO – Post-race swab sample.
KRISTA BELLITA – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.
ONE MORE ALTA – Negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued. Due to the distance lost while galloping the gelding took no competitive part in the race.
WARRAWEE CRUZIN – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 5 – PEAK HILL END OF AN ERA PACE – 2040 metres
SHE THE DEVIL – Post-race swab sample.
MCLEAN – Leaving the 300 metres contacted the sulky wheel of BETTING RANGER as a result of that runner hanging in and tightening the gelding’s racing room. Driver M Rue was questioned on the tactics adopted and the overall performance of the gelding when racing outside the leader throughout, tired over the concluding stages to finish in 10th and last position beaten 28.4 metres. He stated it wasn’t his intention to race outside the leader and he was expecting BETTING RANGER to work forward to allow his runner to gain cover but when that runner was unable to muster enough speed to obtain the position until the 800 metres where he elected to hold that position. When placed under pressure, although being tightened at the 300 metres failed to respond as expected. His comments were noted.
BETTING RANGER – Leaving the 300 metres, had a tendency to hang in and as a result contacted the sulky wheel of MCLEAN with that runner being tightened for racing room. Driver A Bellach was questioned on the overall tactics and the performance of the gelding when racing three wide in the middle and later stages of the race commenced to give ground over the final 300 metres to finish in 7th position beaten 26 metres. Mr Bellach stated when beginning from barrier six he elected to restrain the gelding in the early stages, when turning into the back straight on the first occasion BETTING RANGER hang out and over raced and as a result when being three wide worked forward with the intention to race outside the leader but when unable to muster the required speed to obtain that position was obliged to race wide for the final 800 metres. He further stated when leaving the 400 metres the gelding commenced to hang in and with his rein becoming caught on the tail tie it made it difficult to correct BETTING RANGER up the track and as a result has tightened the running of MCLEAN. His comments were noted.
FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP – Pre-race blood sample.
BARLOR HEAVEN – Pre-race blood sample. Leaving the 500 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. Considering the gelding’s recent record, it will be stood down for one requalifying trial.
RACE 6 – PEAK HILL COMMITTEE PACE – 1660 metres
LAST FLITE – Post-race swab sample.
CLEARY – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up. Considering it was the gelding’s first start it will be given its last chance in the mobile barrier draw in future starts. Negotiating the first turn when hanging out was tightened for racing room when WARRAWEE JACK shifted down the track and as a result broke stride.
MONSTER MINT – Leaving the 500 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued.
WARRAWEE JACK – Pre-race blood sample. Driver N Hurst was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the first turn has shifted his runner down the track when insufficiently clear of CLEARY and as a result that runner has broke stride. In not taking more severe action against Mr Hursts’ licence, the racing manners of CLEARY who hung out when negotiating the turn contributing to the incident were taken into consideration.
MISS WONGARBON – Negotiating the first turn three wide raced rough for a short distance. Gave ground over the final 400 metres to finish in 8th position beaten 58.6 metres. Driver Jett Turnbull could no reasonable explanation for the filly’s poor performance. Trainer Josh Turnbull advised Stewards the filly would be retired. Considering the filly’s overall performance, she will be stood down for one requalifying trial if returning to racing.
IRISH SPEED – Negotiating the first turn was severely checked when locking wheels with CLAERY when that runner broke stride and shifted out.
BRAEDIE WEARS RED – When negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid IRISH SPEED who had locked wheels.
CHASIN YOU - When negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid IRISH SPEED who had locked wheels.
RACING RAY – Negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when improving onto the back of IRISH SPEED who had locked wheels and was severely checked. At the request of connections, the gelding was placed back in the mobile barrier draw at future starts.
RACE 7 – LANGLANDS HANLON AWN PACE – 1660 metres
HESKOALATEE – Driver J Betts was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(ii) in that when entering the home straight on the final occasion when shifting his runner wider has done so when insufficiently clear of STUDLEIGH SUNRISE with that horse being inconvenienced.
ULTIMATE COOKIE – Driver Miss Ella Turnbull was cautioned on her whip use in the home straight on the final occasion.
STUDLEIGH SUNRISE – When entering the home straight on the final occasion was inconvenienced when HESKOALATEE shifted out when insufficiently clear.
DENVER COLORADO – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
ESPERANZA – Checked shortly after the start as a result of ULTIMATE COOKIE being slow to begin.
WINDY HILL WHISKEY – Driver A Turnbull was questioned on the filly’s overall performance where she failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 9th and last position beaten 30.2 metres. A Turnbull stated the filly proved difficult to drive throughout the event and wanted to hang out throughout and when racing three wide from the 700 metres failed to respond as expected when placed under pressure.
RACE 8 – 2PK/ROK FM 2YO PACE – 1660 metres
DIRECT TARGET – Commenced to give ground over the final 400 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 59.1 metres. A warning was placed on the filly’s racing manners.
YARRAMAN TILLY – Pre-race blood sample.
STRAIGHTNNARROW – Negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued.
WINFIELD BLUE – Approaching the 1200 metres when over racing was inconvenienced when improving onto the back of MICKILLATIGER.
MICKILLATIGER – Fractious when leaving the score up. A warning was issued.
AURORABUSTAMOVE – Trainer J Turnbull was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to submit a gear form prior to racing.
