RACE 1 – THE TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1740 metres

General: Stewards intend to review all wagering on this event.

GEOFFREY BEE – Pre-race swab.

FREASON($6.50) Driver Haylee Day was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 8th position beaten 19.9m after racing outside the leader throughout the event. Ms Day attributed the performance to the gelding pulling hard throughout the event and failing to settle which was the main factor to the gelding’s overall performance.

FULL OF SPICE – ($13.00) Trainer/driver Michael Hardy was queried into the seemingly improved performance of the mare in winning compared to its most recent starts. Mr Hardy advised FULL OF SPICE had been performing better than its form suggested as the mare had broken gait or been interfered with in two of its past three (3) starts further more FULL OF SPICE is one paced and had been unable to make ground in unsuitable races and was suited to the consistent speed of today’s event and being able to be positioned in a favourable one-one position for majority of the event & only having to improve from the 300m. Mr Hardy advised he could not explain the market support for the mare as he was unaware if the connections had supported FULL OF SPICE in the event. Mr Hardy was advised FULL OF SPICE would be detained on course for a post-race blood sample to be obtained 2 ½ hours from the event. Post-race swab.

ALWAYS EXCLUSIF – Pre-race swab.

ABERCROMBIE FLASH – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.

RACE 2 – YIRRIBEE PACING STUD PACE – 1740 metres

SWEET LOUANNE – Pre-race swab.

BEACH DELIGHT – Post-race swab.

ELECTOR($1.30 Fav) Trainer/Driver Brad Hewitt was queried into the overall performance of the colt which finished in 5th position beaten 14m after improving forward to lead the event from the 900m. Mr Hewitt advised the colt may have partially choked down when racing keenly & failing to settle at any stages throughout the event as the colt was placed under pressure from the 600m and provided to be disappointing. Mr Hewitt advised he would undertake gear alterations to prevent any reoccurrence & consult with connections in regards to the colt’s current preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt displaying a delayed recovery.

RACE 3– NUTRIEN EQUINE STANDARDBRED PACE –1740 metres

DIVA BON VIVA – Checked & broke gait shortly after the start was effected when BOY STUNNER broke gait and veered inwards.

BOY STUNNER – Began badly as the start was effected and veered inwards checking DIVA BON VIVA. A warning was issued against the gelding’s barrier manners.

YIRRADIVA – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

OUTBACK TINTIN – Pre-race swab. Broke gait clear of interference passing the 1300m. OUTBACK TINTIN will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. In taking this action stewards were mindful the gelding was having its first official start and in accordance with HRNSW racing policy.

RACE 4 – STEEL SUPPLIES PACE – 1740 metres

RETURN SERVE – ($5.00) Trainer/driver Jackson Painting was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 8th position beaten 13.4m after leading. Mr Painting advised the gelding was disappointing and attributed the performance to leading against stronger opposition and it would be his intentions to drive the gelding more conservatively against similar opposition going forward. Inconvenienced passing the 200m when MASON DIXON LINE shifted inwards forcing the gelding into the sprint lane inconveniencing HAPPY TOO YA which was improving to his inside along the sprint lane.

MASON DIXON LINE – Driver Blake Jones was issued a reprimand for tightening the racing room of RETURN SERVE when attempting for run at the 200m.

BONDI LASSPost-race swab.

FEELGOOD RAY – Pre-race swab.

HAPPY TOO YA – Inconvenienced passing the 200m.

RACE 5 – SUCCESS STUD PACE – 1740 metres

ROCK THE NATION NZ – Pre-race swab.

ESTHER RISING – Post-race swab.

LIFE GETS BETTER – Broke gait during the latter stages of the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. LIFE GETS BETTER will now be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events. In taking this action stewards were mindful the gelding was issued a warning three (3) starts prior for displaying similar barrier manners.  Broke gait passing the 1100m a warning was issued against the gelding racing manners.

RACE 6 – CARNIVAL OF CUPS NOVEMBER 14 PACE – 1740 metre

ISLA ROCHELLE – Post-race swab.

MOP NZ – Declared a late Scratching at 3:52pm on veterinary advice.

OHOKA NICO NZ – Post-race swab. Claimed by Alan Field of Junee.

DIEING ART – Driver Peter McRae was queried into the tactics adopted upon the mare inside the final 200m in particular his decision when directing the mare wider on the track when improving between OHOKA NICO NZ & OUR ROKU before being directed to the inside marker line and improve along the sprint lane to finish in 2nd position. Mr McRae advised it was his decision to manoeuvre DIEING ART wider on the track when improving onto the back of OHOKA NICO NZ however DIEING ART had gained an advantage over OUR ROKU which was racing to his outside and he was not in a position to shift that runner wider on the track without causing interference to OUR ROKU therefore elected to direct DIEING ART back to the marker line and improve along the sprint lane as ISLA ROCHELLE (winner) improved quickly which allowed sufficient room. After viewing the available replays which supported the comments of Mr McRae Stewards deemed the tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and noted his comments.

SMOKIN POCKET – Pre-race swab.

RACE 7 – H FRANCIS & CO PACE – 1740 metre

HOLY CAMP DILLON – Post-race swab. Claimed by Rikki Cernovskis of Manton after a ballot.
