Brad gears up for Armidale

16 May 2021

The Armidale Harness Racing Club are gearing up for their Carnival of Cups meeting.

With heats held at that venue today in preparation for Armidale’s big meeting on May 30, one of the drivers making the long trek north is Brad Elder.
Venturing from his Maitland base, Elder has five drives locked in at Armidale today and three of those drives are for heats of a race where the winning connections receive a sulky.
His first chance of that happening is with the Richard Williams-trained A Good Ideal in race three, a pacer Elder has never driven before.
Elder will pair up with Williams again in the following heat (race four) with Amused, which Elder drove to victory at Tamworth on May 6.
Elder when then try is luck at qualifying for this ‘gig race’ with the Ronald Neal-trained Glen Innes Boy in race five.
Elder has had a strong month in the sulky, winning a heat of the TAB Regional Championship with Its Allabout Alice at Newcastle on May 7.
