Rising Star Jett Turnbull ready to take on Australasia’s best

Fresh off the most successful fortnight of his budding career, 17-year-old driving sensation Jett Turnbull has received yet another accolade.

The talented young reinsman has been selected to represent New South Wales in the Australasian Young Drivers Championship, set to be held during the Inter Dominion Carnival in Queensland this July.

“This is an absolute honour to be selected to represent my state, especially so early on in my career,” said Turnbull.

The exciting news comes on the heels of Turnbull’s biggest career wins — taking out both the TAB Regional Championships Western Final and the State Final with standout pacer Glitter Aint Gold.

Adding to the milestone, Turnbull’s victory in last Saturday’s $100,000 TAB Regional Championships State Final at Menangle marked his 300th career win in the sulky — a remarkable achievement for someone his age.

It was only last year that Turnbull etched his name into the record books as the youngest Australian driver to reach 100 wins.

Last season, Turnbull was the leading concession driver in the state, ending the term on 175 wins.

“Jett continues to impress with his professionalism, dedication and natural talent,” said Harness Racing NSW CEO Peter Buckman.

“His recent performances have been exceptional, and representing New South Wales is a fitting reward.

“The future of harness racing is in great hands with young stars like Jett coming through the ranks.”
