Racing and Sports Menangle Mail - September 20

19 September 2025

Local trainer Jason Grimson holds a strong hand in Saturday night’s Club Menangle Carousel Final with three starters including early favourite Our Sweet Delight.

Earlier on the program popular veteran Max Delight (pictured) will have to come overcome the outside barrier if he is to win in his first outing since a close-up finish in the Len Smith Mile.
Race-by-race preview of Menangle, Saturday September 20

Race 1: ACCESS GROUP SOLUTIONS PROPERTY & ASSET MANAGEMENT PACE
MIKI PINS (5) resumes off some good form including a win at this circuit three back. Owns a good record here and was readied with a nice trial. That could have him ready for a winning return. RAKAJED (7) brought his good Melbourne form with him when he returned to this circuit last week and placed at Listed level. The wider barrier presents more of a challenge but he is good enough to win if things go his way. VITE MONET (9) will have to overcome a wide barrier but his form reads well, winning here three back and getting close in a Eureka consolation over this distance last start. DOUBLE ACT (1) came from wider to go under by a head last week. Has only once missed a place in his last seven starts and he should get every chance from the inside draw. CRAFTMANS CHARLIE (2) wasn't disgraced from a wide draw last week and has recorded a win and a close-up fourth the last two times he started from this barrier so can improve.

Race 2: BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE
MAX DELIGHT (11) was terrific from a deep barrier to go under by just 1.2m in the Len Smith Mile last start. Draws out again but won his previous two at this circuit and distance, one of them from this barrier. Always reliable and can go close. KINGMAN (10) led and felt the pressure late in the Len Smith Mile but was going very well prior with two wins and a second from his previous three here. Two-time winner at the distance and can bounce back. HELLUVA (1) switches from a Victorian yard and tuned up with an easy trial win. Should get every chance from the inside draw. UBETCHA TIGERPIE (6) has been racing very well from wide barriers. Starts from the middle of the line tonight and that brings him right into contention. Wouldn't surprise to see BAINBRIDGE (7) in the finish after returning to winning form last week.

Race 3: HAPPY 40TH JONO PACE
SAO PAULO SIMBA (3) is a progressive colt who was ultra impressive here last start, overcoming the widest barrier to cruise home by 21m. Building a strong record at this distance and is well served by tonight's draw. Look ready to go through his grades so can deliver again. SIREN SEA (7) is a promising mare who added to a fine strike rate with an easy resuming win at Wagga before a fourth in a Carousel heat last week. Draws wider but is proven third-up so should be close to her peak. Victorian PERUN (4) made a successful first attempt in Sydney when coming from a wide barrier to win at this circuit and distance on Monday. A lower draw gives him the chance to take this next step. MONTEFIORE (2) has been going along nicely from wider barriers so will enjoy this much more favourable draw. MAURLEN BOY (6) has been racing consistently at this venue, the latest a fourth from the outside barrier. Include.

Race 4: STATEWIDE CONSTRUCTION SUPPLIES PACE
Siding with ROCLEA IMAGE (8) at good each way odds. He may need some luck from the barrier but he'll find this much easier than his last attempt at Listed level and wasn't too far away from similar barriers to this in his previous two attempts. SPIRIT OF ARION (9) is another that cops a wide barrier but he is going well with placings in four of his last five outings here, one of the from the extreme outside. Didn't miss by much last week and could deliver. DOM TORETTO (4) should be fitter for a couple of outings off a let-up, coming from the back row to place at Goulburn on Tuesday. Suited up in distance and his best form measures right up. MONTALBANO (7) came from a similar barrier last start and wasn't too far off them. Respect along with TERRY (6) who would win this if he produced his best.

Race 5: CLUB MENANGLE CAROUSEL FINAL (LISTED CLASSIC)
MIKI COHEN (1) is a progressive former Kiwi who has won his last two outings here. Tried this distance for the first time last week and led from this draw before digging deep to get the job done. He can take advantage of the barrier again and prove hard to get past. Stablemate OUR SWEET DELIGHT (9) is two from two here since switching from Queensland, last week working to the front and proving too good. Draws a couple of spots wider but has the gate speed to overcome that. CLASSIC ELEGANCE (5) will be fitter for her resuming second to Our Sweet Delight. That was her first Australian outing since leaving NZ off back-to-back Group 1 placings. Could improve enough to turn the tables. TUAPEKA LOU (7) is hard to knock off four successive wins here, the latest from this barrier. That saw him unbeaten at this distance. Right in this. ALTA WILLIAM (10) draws wide but did well to win his heat last week.

Race 6: BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL LADYSHIP PACE
BELLA DANZA (8) has been freshened since tackling a strong line-up of males in the Discovery Stakes last start and will appreciate the class drop. Had won two in a row at this circuit and distance prior, coming from this barrier to land the Listed Norms Daughter two back. Well placed back against her own sex. THE ANSWER (5) was first past the post last week but was relegated on protest. Has a strong record at this distance, winning two of her previous three here. Could atone. OUR SAYDIE KAY (4) copped plenty of interference before getting the race on protest last week. In form and could go on with it. LUVARESCHS (7) draws wider but did well for fourth against the boys in the Stockade last start. ZENXENA (6) won the last time she raced here last month so is worth including.

Race 7: WOODLANDS STUD TROTTERS CAROUSEL FINAL
FAMILIAR TRICKS (9) is in terrific form having easily won his three starts here so far this campaign. Has had enough speed to lead from wider draws in his past two outings, last week cruising home by 9m over this distance. He'll be hard to stop. FONDA RHONDA (2) is another that landed a winning hat trick here last time, digging deep to get the job done. Her winning margins haven't been as big as the top pick's but she is two from three at this distance and draws to advantage. JUNGLE EYES (11) looks close to a win after back-to-back seconds, last time coming from this same barrier to miss Fonda Rhonda narrowly. ADDICTIVE STRIDE (12) should be close to peak fitness after placing in both starts since a spell, the latest a third from this barrier. LAST CLANSMAN (1) is ticking along well and it wouldn't surprise to see him feature from the inside draw.

Race 8: FARMER JOES OUTLET PACE
JORDY (7) is working towards another win, clocking in second from the back row at Penrith two back before returning the city to be beaten less than 4m on Monday. Draws wider but finds a winnable assignment. GUILTY PARTY (2) has been coming from wider barriers of late so will enjoy this much favourable draw. Beaten only 1.6m from wider on the line the last time he raced here. Big chance. FOXY DADA (6) has had tougher barriers at his last couple but came from a similar draw to this the last time he raced here and proved to good despite working. The ace draw brings last start placegetter SAHARA SIROCCO (1) into contention while DANGEROUS THREATS (8) is capable on his day so it wouldn't surprise to see a better showing.

BEST BETS:
Race 6 #6 Bella Danza – Handy mare who will enjoy the return to her own sex.
Race 4 #8 Roclea Image – May need luck but offers some value at each way odds.
