Junee driver on a Griffith mission

9 November 2018

JUNEE reinsman Peter McRae has his own mission as he heads to Griffith’s TAB Carnival of Cups meeting this Saturday night.

The 22-year-old is competing in the biggest race of his succinct career as he is engaged to drive Luvumum in the Griffith Pacers Cup (2150m).

And a win in the $13,260 feature will cap off a great few weeks McRae has had in the sulky.

Last Saturday week McRae drove his first treble at Wagga, just 10 days after celebrating his Birthday.

He then won a heat of the Griffith Pacers Cup with Luvumum on Tuesday and that success gave McRae his eighth winner for the season.

McRae began driving in races more than four years ago and he has steered 68 winners in this time.

And he is not the only junior driver competing in Saturday’s feature at Griffith.

This includes Thurgoona driver James McPherson who will drive Bater House.

The 17-year-old reinsman has only driven in 17 races.

Meanwhile, young driver Jordan Seary will compete in the feature after locking in the drive on Ned Pepper.

The Junee driver has won nine races in his career which started more than two years ago.
