Top drivers ready to strike at Newcastle

New South Wales’ top three harness racing drivers will all compete at Newcastle tonight.

Leading the NSW Drivers’ Premiership is 23-year-old reinsman Cameron Hart who has notched up 59 winners this year.

Hart has drives in seven of the nine races.

Menangle based driver Robert Morris is second in the Premiership with 39 wins this season and has six drives tonight.

Meanwhile, the third top driver in the state is 19-year-old reinsman Blake Hughes.

Based in the Hunter region, Hughes is on track to having his best season to date having driven 32 winners so far.

He has a drive in eight races at Newcastle tonight – a track he has a 44 per cent strike rate of finishing in the top three placings.
