Regional Championships the aim for Brad

After winning one of the inaugural TAB Regional Championships last year Goulburn horseman Brad Hewitt is hoping for a repeat.

Hewitt has three horses engaged in the two heats of the Metropolitan series at Menangle today.

Rockin With Elvis will represent the stable in the first qualifier and has drawn barrier one with Luke McCarthy to do the driving.

Hewitt has enlisted McCarthy to dive in-form pacer Arma Renegade in the second qualifier while Hewitt will take the reins behind his other pacer, Hez Dusty.

Hewitt trained his first Group 1 winner when Send It won last year’s Regional State Metropolitan Final at Menangle.

Hewitt has since trained one other Group 1 winner when Yarraman Bella was recently successful in the Riverina Championship.

More heats of the Regional Championships will be held at Riverina Paceway tonight, Bathurst on Wednesday and Newcastle on Friday night.
