Michael in career best form

6 January 2023

Hunter Valley horseman Michael Formosa ended last season on a high.

Formosa reached 1200 career wins as a driver last month and then won the Inter City Pace Final at Maitland with One For The Rodi on December 30.
That was the second time Formosa had won that feature and he will be looking to continue the success in the region at Newcastle tonight.
The 51-year-old mentor has five horses nominated across the meeting and is driving them all himself.
Meanwhile at Bathurst tonight, reinsman Doug Hewitt has four drives.
The two-time Group 1 winner will be wearing silks for the Team Flood Relief fundraiser.
Hewitt wore the silks at Parkes on Wednesday night and they are designed to raise awareness of the devastating floods faced in the state’s central west last November.
