Mikayla taking the reins for Team Teal

10 February 2023

FRESH from a win for the Team Teal campaign young reinswoman Mikayla Towers looks set to add to that success at Albury’s TAB Carnival of Cups tonight.

The 18-year-old has six drives across the feature program, including in the two main events with pacers trained by her father Michael Towers.
The first of those feature runners is Major Monty in race three who Towers won with at Riverina Paceway last month.
The other is The Black Assassin in race five.
Towers began driving last season and has three wins to her credit.
Her most recent winner was on Jaffa at Temora on Tuesday.
There is also a strong meeting at Newcastle tonight, featuring the first two-year-old race for the year in NSW with all starters making their race debut.
This includes the Cameron Ross-trained Dashing who is out of the top-performing mare Frith.

The iForm best bets for Friday:

Newcastle best bet
Race 1: Martini Stride (4)
Form was patchy before joining an astute stable and looks the testing material trialling okay at Menangle.

Newcastle next best
Race 6: Ziggy Rocks (6)
Can be prominent in a spirited clash going better than his numbers suggest.

Around the tracks
Albury best bet
Race 3: Sonic Express (2)
Draws to land straight on speed and from there looks hard to beat.
