Mick Formosa looking for another Armidale Cup

The barrier draw for next Saturday night’s $1million Miracle Mile will be completed today.

Prior to the final qualifying heats at Menangle last night, Victorian pacer Captain Ravishing was still the pre-draw favourite for the Miracle Mile despite not gaining an official invitation at the time and remained the popular pick after being selected for the feature.

The Miracle Mile barrier draw will be part of a big afternoon at Menangle Country Club where the NSW Industry Awards will also take place.

Hunter Valley reinsman Michael Formosa has been nominated for the TAB Kevin Newman Award for Driving Excellence, however, will not be in attendance at the function.

Formosa will be participating at Armidale’s TAB Carnival of Cups meeting where he has his pacer Major Bob engaged in the Armidale Cup.

Formosa won the 2017 Armidale Cup with his ill-fated pacer Ultimate Art.

"We won that race with Thomas and that's the day he reached $500,000 in stakes," said Formosa.

"It's a hard race to win."
