HRNSW joins the race for research

31 January 2025

Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) is proud to once again join the race for research in the 2025 Team Teal campaign.

The WomenCan initiative will run from February 1 to March 15, where reinswomen across the state will wear teal driving pants to raise awareness of the cause, along with Team Teal ambassadors in each major region of the state.
This year’s NSW Team Teal ambassadors are:
Metropolitan
  • KerryAnn Morris (trainer/driver)
  • Ashleigh Delosa (trainer/driver)

North/Hunter
  • Jemma Coney (trainer/driver)
  • Grace Panella (trainer/driver)

South
  • Taylah Osmond (driver)
  • Ellen Jones (trainer/driver)

West
  • Amanda Turnbull (trainer)
  • Olivia Frisby (trainer/driver)
Each time a female trained and/or driven horse wins in NSW during the campaign, HRNSW will donate $200 to WomenCan, plus an additional $200 for every ambassador trained and/or driven winner.
After raising a record of more than $87,000 last year in NSW alone, HRNSW Chief Executive Peter Buckman encourages all to rally their support of the series.
“HRNSW is incredibly proud to be a part of the WomenCan Team Teal campaign,” said Buckman.
“By joining forces with this important initiative, we aim to raise awareness and much-needed funds for ovarian cancer research. Together, we can help make a real difference and I encourage all participants and clubs to rally their support."
Since joining the campaign in 2016, HRNSW has helped raise much-needed funds for crucial ovarian and gynaecological cancer research and education programs through the Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG).
This year there is a collective goal across the Australasia-wide campaign to raise $350,000 to support the growth of the Survivors Teaching Students program, which educates future medical professionals to improve the diagnosis and care of women with gynaecological cancer.
