WA’s Kristy Sheehy Takes Final Place In NSW Rising Stars

Twenty-year old driver Kristy Sheehy has been confirmed by Western Australia as its representative in the upcoming NSW Rising Stars series after winning her second successive WA Concession Drivers Challenge on the weekend.  The NSW Rising Stars series will begin at Young on Tuesday June 23.

 

As last year’s WA Concession Drivers Challenge winner, Sheehy competed in the 2014 NSW Rising Stars and finished fifth behind Chris Geary.  After the competition Sheehy remained in Sydney and worked for several months and only recently returned home.

Apart from competing at tracks across New South Wales including Young, Bathurst, Penrith, Newcastle and Menangle drivers will also get the opportunity to visit the stables of Luke and Belinda McCarthy and Steve Turnbull.  The group will travel to Success Stud and undertake media training with Trots TV while under the care of Rachael and David Micallef.

 

Harness Racing NSW (HRNSW) is the controlling body for harness racing in New South Wales with responsibility for commercial and regulatory management of the industry including 31 racing clubs across the State.  HRNSW is headed by an industry-appointed Board of Directors and is independent of Government.
