GENERAL

Due to a technical issue with the water truck leaving excess water on the track just prior to the running of race 4, Stewards ordered that all races go back 1 time slot with the last race scheduled to commence at 9:46pm (10:16pm Sydney time).

 

RACE 1 – CARBINE CHEMICALS PACE - 2210M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from BADLAND STAR.

Due to the fast speed of the mobile KEAYNAG SANDY, SASSYFEET, WERETHEHEKAWI, BADLAND STAR, FOURFIVEEIGHTYSIX and A GOOD NEWS DAY were all out of position at the start. No action was taken against any of these runners.

SASSYFEET and FOURFIVEEIGHTYSIX commenced to tire passing the 700 metres and locked wheels approaching the 500 metres. After taking into account the recent racing record of both mare’s, they are now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again.  

 

RACE 2 – REDENBACH LEE LAWYERS - 2210M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from THE CROM.

WRINKLE KNUTT underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination due to the horse being 13 years of age. No obvious abnormalities were detected.

EUSTON FLYER broke stride during the score up which resulted in the trailing WRINKLE KNUTT being inconvenienced and consequently a false start was declared. After taking into account the gelding’s recent record at the start, it will now be placed outside the draw for mobile starts.

SERENE CHANGE was slow to begin.

PILOT PETE hung out and raced roughly rounding the first turn. It was issued with its last chance to race truly.

MODERN TORQUE broke stride rounding the first turn and again leaving the homestraight on the first occasion. Trainer/driver R Moore stated that the mare did not handle the turns on the smaller track. After taking into account the mare’s recent racing record, it is now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again.

A post-race sample was taken from SERENE CHANGE which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 3 – SOLCON TRADING LADYSHIP PACE – 1900M

 

The start time was delayed due to the paramedics attending to the on course veterinary surgeon who had sustained a minor injury. The veterinary surgeon was passed fit to continue his duties for the evening.    

Stewards delayed the “All clear signal” to review the films in relation to MAGIC IN HER MOVES shifting out under pressure over the concluding stages of the home straight. After reviewing the available films, Stewards were satisfied with the concluding stages of the race and declared “All clear” on the judge’s numbers. Subsequently, the filly was issued with a warning.

MAYBE LUV commenced to tire passing the 500 metres. After taking into account the mare's recent racing record, it is now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again. 

COWGIRLSNLACE raced roughly rounding the first turn.   

 

RACE 4 – ROCKY BAKER MEMORIAL PACING CUP - 2500M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from SPRINGFIELD SHADOW.

Approaching the winning post with a lap to go THE DEAL shied and shifted up the track momentarily and as a result the trailing DARKNDRAPPER was inconvenienced. This was due to the photo finish light being activated slightly early illuminating the track in front of the horses. No action was taken against the gelding.

BETTATOBELUCKY broke stride rounding the turn into the home straight with a lap to go inconveniencing the trailing WEERROOK HARRY. The gelding commenced to break stride again rounding the final turn. After taking into account the geldings recent racing record, it is now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again.

A post-race sample was taken from THE DEAL which was successful in the event.

 

RACE 5 – DEMO CLUB PACE - 1900M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from SOMEDAN.

B Devcic the driver of HESEVERSOCLEVER was issued a reprimand under AHRR 135(2) for failing to be on the track no less than 7 minutes before the appointed time of a race.

HESEVERSOCLEVER hung out slightly during the score up which resulted in the runner to its outside FONG NIEN being slightly up the track, which in turn inconvenienced EYE CARLY during the score up. It was issued with a warning.

A post-race sample was taken from HESEVERSOCLEVER.

 

RACE 6 – DOUG CARROLL “WORLDS OLDEST WORKING BOOKMAKER” PACE - 1900M

 

A pre-race blood sample was taken from KENNY REES.

D Gibson the driver of KENNY REES was issued a reprimand under AHRR 135(2) for failing to be on the track no less than 7 minutes before the appointed time of a race.

MISTER ALIAS was out of position at the start. After taking into account the gelding’s recent record at the start, it will continue to be placed outside the draw for mobile starts.

ILLAWONG GALLANT hung in and contacted marker pegs rounding the first turn and consequently broke stride. It was issued with a warning.

MAJOR MAGUIRE commenced to tire passing the 300 metres. Trainer/driver A Camilleri stated that the gelding had a tendency to hit its knees during the event. After taking into account the gelding's recent racing record, it is now required to trial satisfactory on at least 1 occasion prior to racing again. 

A post-race sample was taken from AMERICAN BEAU which was successful in the event.
