GENERAL

Following a heavy shower all events were re-scheduled to start two races later than the advertised time with Race 7 re-scheduled for 6.05pm and Race 8 6.30pm.

RACE 1 – BEST EMPLOYMENT/RSM CLUB THREE YEAR OLD PACE – 2000 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from TRALEE CHIC.

LITTLE BOLT (A Millard) broke stride part way through the score up which resulted in the gelding being out of position at the start and a warning was issued.

TIGER COURAGE (A Varga) broke stride when negotiating the first turn and when racing at the rear of the field as the field entered the back straight in the final lap the filly again raced roughly.  Warnings were issued.

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (N Dawson) had a tendency to hang out at varying stages of the event when in the lead.

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 2 – INVERELL VET CLINIC/WADE STREET MEATS PACE – 2000 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from GROOVY MISS ANNIE.

MENDLESOHN was inspected by the club’s veterinary surgeon who reported the gelding fit to take its place in the field.

FOR ME (A Missen) broke stride in the score up to drop back and check runners on the second line obliging the starter to declare a false start.  For the re-start the gelding scored and began in a satisfactory manner.  A warning was issued.

MENDLESOHN (B Millard) raced roughly in the early stages of the score up and a further warning was issued.

ALWAYS A LEXUS (M Young) broke stride when racing wide on the first turn to drop back and check JAKES ARK (M Faulkner).  A warning was issued against ALWAYS A LEXUS.

WHATTS UP LETSPLAY (D Chapple) broke stride when moving towards the two wide line as the field moved into the first turn and a warning was issued.

TRUE FEELINGS (A Varga) which raced towards the rear of the field on the marker pegs had a tendency to over race which contributed to the mare tiring over the concluding stages to finish well back beaten in excess of 100 metres.  Stewards deemed the performance to be unsatisfactory and stood TRUE FEELINGS down until it can requalify.

GROOVY MISS ANNIE which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 3 – SMO-KING BARBEQUE/LIBERTY SERVICE STATION PACE – 2000 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from MAMMALS ROCKSTAR.

THE LINEMASTER (L Weidemann) gave ground over the concluding stages to finish well back.

APOLLON which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 4 – FENCING NORTH WEST PACE – 2000 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from JAX TELLAR.

MISS CATALINA was inspected by the club’s veterinary surgeon prior to the event who reported the mare fit to take its place in the field.

ESSPE SUPREME which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 5 – BLUE GEM CONTRACTORS PACE – 2000 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from OUR MAJOR DAY.

IFOUNDTHEBEACH (S Weidemann) tired over the concluding stages to finish well back.

ULTIMATE AD was re-included in the barrier draw for mobile events.

RACE 6 – KEVIN & KAY SEYMOUR MARES PACE – 2000 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from INVITE ONLY and PEGGY SUE SHANNON.

PLAYING ARKABELLA (M Young) gave ground in the final lap to finish at the rear of the field.

INVITE ONLY which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 7 – TABCORP CARNIVAL OF CUPS – 2000 metres

Pre race blood samples were collected from IS THAT SO.

A false start was declared when TELL THE LINESMEN (N Dawson) which was drawn on the outside of the second row commenced to over race and oved forward of its starting mark.  For the re-start the gelding scored up and began in an satisfactory manner.  A warning was issued.

D Gatt-Bouquet (BALLATOR THOR) was suspended for 21 days under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when manoeuvring towards a marker pegs position as the field moved into the first turn done so without clearance over CRONIN (M Faulkner) which was racing on its inside resulting in a contact to that gelding’s off side fore leg which hooked in the round back of BALLATOR THOR’S sulky for a short distance to be severely checked.  When considering this matter Stewards took into account D Gatt-Bouquet’s  driving record and guilty plea.

N Kliendienst (ROLAMAX) was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when manoeuvring from the three wide line towards the two wide line as the field approached the winning post in the early stages of the event done so with barely sufficient clearance over IS THAT SO (D Chapple) which was racing on its inside.

COULDNTNOKHIMBAK (L Weidemann) gave ground in the final lap to finish well back beaten in excess of 150 metres.  Stewards deemed the performance of the gelding to be unsatisfactory and stood COULDNTNOKHIMBAK down until it can requalify.

TELL THE LINESMEN which was successful in this event was sent to be swabbed.
