All Driver’s engaged to drive in race 5 tonight were subject to alcohol breath testing.

 

RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES HEAT PACE – 1720 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from ROGER THAT.

Driver P Betts was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that leaving the 1600 metres she allowed ABERCROMBIE TAB to shift-in when not sufficiently clear of MONTEREI DUKE (R Blythe) which was tightened.

OVERPOWERING (N Hurst) had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event, before tiring over the concluding stages.

MONTEREI DUKE raced three wide without cover from approaching the 1200 metres, before tiring over the concluding stages. IM NOT CRAZY (B Duck) was inconvenienced behind the tiring MONTEREI DUKE near the 400 metres.

WATCHOUTNEXTTIME (N Turnull) broke gait under pressure leaving the 50 metres, for which a warning was issued.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner PEGGYVILLE.

 

RACE 2 – YOUNG CARWASH INDIGENOUS DRIVERS SERIES HEAT PACE – 2100 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from ARROKEEFE.

Driver J Prior was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to bring RING THE TILL NZ up into position behind the barrier at the start.

MALICIOUS FELLA (T Day) was caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field leaving the 1600 metres.

LUCKY UNLUCKY (A Dean) which had shown gate speed to lead had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

The connections of ARCTIC (D Scanlan), which tired over the concluding stages and was beaten by a considerable margin, were advised the gelding would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

A post-race Veterinary examination of MISSING A BOLT (J Brown), which tired over the concluding stages and was beaten by a considerable margin, did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised the gelding would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner CONVAIR HUSTLER NZ.

 

RACE 3 – CORDINA FARMS PACE – 1720 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from TULHURST TERROR.

STREAMLINER (B Smith) broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued.

MISTER MAGIC MAN (N Turnbull) raced three wide from the start from its second row draw until working forward to take over the lead from ANOTHER BUDDY (M Cullen) leaving the 1200 metres.

SKIRMISH NZ (M Barnes) made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader approaching the 1000 metres.

ANOTHER BUDDY shifted in marginally under pressure leaving the 100 metres, as a result CHICKIES BOY (G Forrest) which had obtained a run to its inside, was tightened and contacted marker pegs.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner MISTER MAGIC MAN.

 

RACE 4 – DONGES SUPA IGA INDIGENOUS DRIVERS SERIES HEAT PACE – 2100 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from SILK BANYULA.

LIMBO LARRY, was examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race after it took control of its Driver during the warm-up and found to be distressed with a high heart-rate and was declared a late scratching at 7.40pm.

SILK BANYULA (D Scanlan) broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued, as a result WATCH ME ROCK (S Wade) was checked.

BOLD WESTERN (J Niass) hung-in near the 2000 metres for which a warning was issued, as a result HOLY CAMP CAPRHYSE (H Green) contacted its sulky wheel and was checked and broke gait.

HOLY CAMP CAPRHYSE, which was over-racing, broke gait leaving the 1600 metres, for which a warning was issued.

SILK BANYULA broke gait approaching the 1400 metres, for which a warning was issued. Driver D Scanlan reported that SILK BANYULA was contacting its own sulky wheel.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner RNR WINDERMERE NZ.

 

RACE 5 – TAB ODDS  & EVENS CLUB MENANGLE WHERE HORSES FLY HEAT PACE – 1720 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from FASTESTGIRLINTOWN.

WEONA BLASTER (M McCaffery) raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1400 metres.

MANLEIGH (M Fletcher) raced four wide rounding the first turn from its second row draw, and then three wide until working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

WEONA BLASTER and SPORTSRILEY (D Carroll) were inconvenienced behind the tiring MANLEIGH approaching the 200 metres.

INDI RENA (T Allamby) was held up for clear running over the concluding stages of the race.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner HAMMERTIME HARLEY.

 

RACE 6 – SOUTHWEST SLOPES CREDIT UNION PACE – 1720 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from SHANNONSTHEMAN.

SHANNONSTHEMAN (M Barnes) hung-in leaving the 1600 metres, as a result MAXIMUS RED (A Turnbull) was tightened and contacted marker pegs, for which a warning was issued. Driver M Barnes was also was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that she made insufficient effort to prevent the tightening when her runner hung-in.

FOUROEIGHT (M Rue) made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

SMITHSTARS LEXUS (N Turnbull) was held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner MAXIMUS RED.

 

RACE 7 – HRNSW REWARDS SERIES FINAL – 2100 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from IMPERIOUS.

RIVER OF ICE (B Woodhouse), which had shown gate speed, raced four wide rounding the first turn before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1600 metres.

FULLON (S Osmond), which had shown gate speed, was caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field near the 1400 metres.

WOTNOW SWANEE (C McElhinney) was inconvenienced and raced roughly when it was restrained from the back of AUCKLAND STAR (L Clement) when the pace eased approaching the 1600 metres.

ACHERON (B Hogan) hung-out approaching the 600 metres, for which a warning was issued; as a result STYLISH GRIN (P McRae) was inconvenienced.

FULLON was inconvenienced behind the tiring AUCKLAND STAR near the 200 metres.

Driver C McElhinney was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(c)(ii) for failing to prevent WOTNOW SWANEE from shifting in under pressure near the finish line and contact marker pegs.

Driver B Micallef (OUR SAMS HOME) was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2) for using his whip in an action that engaged his shoulder rounding the home turn and in the home straight.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner ACHERON.

 

RACE 8 – KEVIN & KAY SEYMOUR EVOLUTION SERIES HEAT 3YO PACE – 1720 metres

 

Pre-race swab samples were taken from JUSTA MAJOR.

It was noted that JUSTA MAJOR (D Perrot) had a tendency to hang-in leaving the 400 metres.

SHE OWNS THE DAY (J Seary) was unable to obtain a clear run in the home straight.

A post-race swab sample was taken from the winner YEP GOT CHOOKS.
