JAY PEEZ OFFICIAL – Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1600 metres.

CODY SHANNON – Pre-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The gelding was passed fit to take its place in the field.  Worked forward to obtain the lead at the 1600 metres.  CODY SHANNON commenced to weaken from the 750 metres to be beaten 124 metres and finished in last position.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have heart block and as a result the gelding was stood down under Rule 101C(2)(a) for a period of 14 days, until a veterinary certificate of fitness including the results of an ECG is submitted and for one requalifying trial.  Trainer D Waite advised Stewards that connections will now assess the gelding’s racing future.

ANGELIC MISS – Hampered behind the weakening CODY SHANNON passing the 600 metres for a short distance.

HURRICANE ROY – Post-race swab sample.

EM POWERED – Stewards questioned trainer M Cuthbert in relation to the seemingly improved performance of the gelding when successful in tonight’s event.  Mr Cuthbert explained that the gelding was first up tonight from a spell and had been working well.  Mr Cuthbert further added that he had changed the work of the gelding and the gelding appeared to be appreciating this change and the shorter trip of tonight’s event was also beneficial. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 4 – GLEN MIA ACT PTY LTD PACE – 1770 metres

TARAMIN – Shifted out in the home straight whilst under pressure.  In view of the mare’s racing manners a warning was issued.  Post-race swab sample.

ONE TUFF MELODY – Raced roughly momentarily after the start whilst being restrained.

THE HANDSOME ONE – Over raced during the early stages of the event and hung out at a point approaching the 1400 metres.  The colt over raced throughout the event.

ITS NICHOLAS – Pre-race blood sample.

UROC N WARRIOR NZ – Hung in during the score up and as a result was out of position at the start.  In view of the colt’s recent record it will be continued to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.  Improved three wide from the 1400 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader at the 1250 metres.  Driver J Vautin explained that the colt raced ungenerously at various stages of tonight’s event and the colt’s racing manners were the main reason for him improving his position during the middle stages of the event.

RACE 5 – J W O’SULLIVAN & SONS PACE – 1770 metres

PANACIAS SEAL – Post-race swab sample.

NOTMUCHUPTOP – Out of position at the start.  In view of the gelding’s recent record a warning was issued.  Slow to begin.

ELECT TO LOVE – Slow to begin and settled at the rear of the field.  Commenced to weaken from the 600 metres to be beaten 141 metres and finished in last position.  Trainer/driver G Forrest explained to Stewards that the mare failed to travel at any stage throughout the event and proved very disappointing.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have suffered a cardiac arrhythmia.  Acting under the provisions of Rule 101C(2)(a) the mare was stood down for a period of 14 days, until a veterinary certificate of fitness including the results of an ECG are submitted and until it completes one requalifying trial.

EBIL STAR – Driver C Hart was advised to ensure he provides sufficient room to runners to his inside when crossing down in that approaching the first turn he crossed down with minimal clearance over LITTLE POM and GOSLING IN FLIGHT.  Post-race swab sample.

NO LOVIE – Pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare not racing in the previous 12 months.  No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Approaching the 1250 metres the mare became unbalanced and galloped.  In view of the mare’s recent record a warning was issued.

TO BE FEARED – Hampered at the 1250 metres when trailing the galloping NO LOVIE for a short distance.
