RACE 1 – BODELL’S PLUMBING 2YO MAIDEN PACE – 1740 metres

 

BETTER HARLEY – Tightened for room and contacted the sulky wheel of IRK MCGLURK near the 1400 metres and was checked and raced roughly. Tired over the concluding stages.

DANCE AWAY – Post-race swab sampled.

IRK MCGLURK – Pre-race swab sampled. Shifted in rounding the first turn when not clear of BETTER HARLEY and that runner contacted its sulky wheel. At a subsequent inquiry, Driver G Forrest pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that rounding the first turn he shifted his runner in when not sufficiently clear of BETTER HARLEY which was tightened for room, contacted the sulky wheel of IRK MCGLURK was checked and raced roughly. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account G Forrest’s guilty plea, his good driving record with regards to this rule and the particular circumstances of the incident. Driver G Forrest had his license to drive in races suspended for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight the 8th of July. Driver reported carried a flat tyre from near the 1000 metres. Tired over the concluding stages.

ONE FOR DES – Showed gate speed, then raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from IRK MCGLURK near the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 2 – CONQUEST POOLS MAIDEN PACE – 1740 metres

 

FAMILEIGH – Hung-out near the 800 metres. Tired over the concluding stages for which a warning was issued.

KILLARA INSANITY – Pre-race swab sampled. Surrendered the lead to MY ULTIMATE SPORT near the 1200 metres.

LITTLE MISS DAISY – Broke gait free of interference near the 1000 metres, for which a warning was issued.

NEILS REACTOR – Post-race swab sampled.

MY ULTIMATE SPORT – Showed gate speed, then raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from KILLARA INSANITY near the 1200 metres. Hung-out near the 600 metres.

 

RACE 3 – TAB ODDS & EVENS 3YO PACE – 1740 metres

 

BOSTON BUSKER – Pre-race swab sampled. Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it was having its first race start in over 12 months, and cleared to start. Post-race swab sampled.

MONTEREI HEAVEN – Inconvenienced behind the tiring BE GOOD BENNY leaving the 400 metres.

IMPERTINENT WRITER – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field leaving the 1000 metres.

BE GOOD BENNY – Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

 

RACE 4 – ALAN HARRIS MCDONALD FUNERAL DIRECTORS PACE – 2270 metres

 

OPEN THE VALVE – Surrendered the lead to NEVAEVABEND near the 1600 metres.

FASTNFLASHY – Sulky contacted by OUR LADY LARA near the 600 metres where it sustained a flat tyre. Post-race swab sampled.

TROPICAL STORM – Showed gate speed, then raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1800 metres. Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

OUR LADY LARA – Out of position at the start, connections were advised that it would continue to be placed outside the draw in mobile start races. Improved up on to the back of FASTNFLASHY near the 600 metres, despite the efforts of the Driver, and contacted that runners sulky wheel.

NEVAEVABEND – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the lead from OPEN THE VALVE near the 1600 metres.

SIT DOWN WALTER – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 5 – HUNTERS NEWSAGENCY PACE – 2270 metres

 

ACE IN OUR POCKET – Pre-race swab sampled.

THE CLOCK WINDER – Post-race swab sampled.

CRUZEN SCOTT – Surrendered the lead to DANCING LILLY near the 1800 metres. Had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the home straight.

DANCING LILLY – Worked forward to take over the lead from CRUZEN SCOTT near the 1800 metres.

 

RACE 6 – LADEX CONSTRUCTION PACE – 2270 metres

 

UROC BABY NZ – Galloped out as the start was effected for which a warning was issued. Worked forward to take over the lead from MAMMALS PRINCE near the 1600 metres.

NIFTY ROCKET MAN – Hung-in during the score-up.

MO FARAH NZ – Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

MAMMALS PRINCE – Surrendered the lead to UROC BABY NZ near the 1600 metres. Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event. Post-race swab sampled.

MUSTANG CRUISER – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

WALKAMILEINMYSHOES – Pre-race swab sampled. Inconvenienced near the 1200 metres when BEAU BROWN broke gait.

BEAU BROWN – Raced roughly near the 2000 metres and again leaving the 1800 metres. Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1200 metres, given the circumstances and the gelding’s record connections were advised that it was stood down for 7 days and would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial. Raced three wide from near the 1200 metres until working forward to take over the position outside the leader near the 800 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination, revealed the gelding to be not striding out correctly due to probably back muscle soreness. Connections were advised that they would be required to provide a Veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding prior to its next race start.

HELL OF A BAND – Inconvenienced after the start when UROC BABY NZ broke gait. Then was caught racing three wide before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field approaching the 1600 metres. Tired over the concluding stages of the race.

 

RACE 7 – STEEL SUPPLIES PACE – 1740 metres

 

HARRY TURBO – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

SAUCY DREAMS – Post-race swab sampled.

NOBBYS CLOCK – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 8 – THE RULES CLUB PACE – 1740 metres

 

GAME SET MAJOR – Hung-out under pressure in the home straight, for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sampled.

NEVER BEEN SAID – Pre-race swab sampled.

THE MUSE – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position in the running line at the rear of the field near the 1200 metres.

SPARE ME DAYS – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued.
