RACE 1 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE - 1646 metres

TENNESSEE MIRACLE – Had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.

FOUR STAR LINCOLN – A post – race swab sample was taken.

MYSTICAL JAZZ – Pre – race sample was taken.

GIVE ME A MINUTE NZ – Had a tendency to hang in whilst under pressure over the final 200 metres. A warning was issued.

MYSTIC EAGLE – Had a tendency to race roughly over the final 600 metres.

 

RACE 2 - AUSSIE MAITLAND & EAST MAITLAND PACE - 1646 metres

BURNING SHADOWS – Pre – race sample was taken.

CORPORAL JUJON – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event whilst leading.

WHEREYAGOINBABE – Trod on a shoe as the field Raced down the back straight on the final occasion and blundered.

 

RACE 3 – CATER FORCE PACE - 2044 metres

MIKE ORR – Driver T Ison was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that passing the 900 metres allowed his gelding to shift wider on the track which as a result placed ROBYN TAYLOR in a three wide position. In not taking more severe action stewards were more mindful that there was sufficient room to progress wider however during the shift ROBYN TAYLOR gained momentum and raced to the outside of the off side wheel of MIKE ORR. Post – race sample was taken.

ROBYN TAYLOR – Pre – race sample was taken. Was hampered coming to the 900 metres and obliged to race in a three wide position and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

 

RACE 4 – KIRKWOODS PRODUCE MAITLAND & SINGLETON PACE - 2044 metres

CINOS LEGACY – Pre – race sample was taken.

ROCKINDOWNUNDER – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and checked the running of ROLL WITH ANNIE. At the second attempt at the score up and then again broke during the score up however was able to regain its gait and a place on the mobile barrier. Connections were advised that it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Post – race sample was taken.

MY CLASSY MATE – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

 

RACE 5 – HV HARNESS RACING ASSOC. PACE - 2044 metres

EAGLE UNO – Stewards queried driver R Morris in relation to the overall performance and tactics adopted during the event. Driver R Morris explained to stewards that he was cautious leaving the mobile barrier as the gelding has had a tendency to be somewhat cantankerous around the start. He further added that he made a move in the middle stages three wide however was unsuccessful in attempts for the position outside the leader with MOONLIGHT CRUISER holding that position in addition to his gelding being somewhat one paced. He further added that EAGLE UNO finished off the event well and would expect improvement moving into the preparation.

DONT TELL DOROTHY – A post - race sample was taken.

CONNERMAN – Pre – race sample was taken.

 

RACE 6 – CAMILLERI & MERCIECA FAMILIES PACE - 2044 metres

MISS CIRIELLO – A pre – race sample was taken.

SKY DIAMOND NZ – Was held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

ROCKNROLL RHYTHM – Post – race sample was taken.

 

RACE 7 – WALTON MINE SERVICES PACE - 2044 metres

VALOUR DICTUM - Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

SMILING – Had a tendency to over – race in the middle stages of the event after surrendering the lead and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. Trainer / driver D Chapple explained to stewards that connections would intend to alter the gear.

JERADA GOTTA MAJOR – Pre - race sample was taken. Driver J Hughes was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position on the mobile barrier. Had a tendency to over race in the middle stages of the event.

MINIMUM WAGE – Post – race sample was taken.

 

RACE 8 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE - 1646 metres

ULTIMATE AD – Was tightened for racing room entering the first turn and contacted marker pegs.

GOTTASHOPEARLY – Was placed in restricted room entering the first turn.

BIG BLACK DIAMOND – M Formosa was advised to take greater care in similar circumstances when moving to the first turn, closed down the track and restricted the racing room of GOTTASHOPEARLY which in turn tightened the racing room of ULTIMATE ADD which contacted marker pegs. Post – race sample was taken.

DAYS END – Was examined pre and post – race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

WE SALUTE YOU – Pre – race sample was taken.

HUEY LEWIS NZ – Was held up for clear running over the concluding stages when not fully tested.

HAZELNUTS – Driver P Hedges was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that when passing the 700 metres obliged his runner to shift wider on the track which in turn placed WE SALUTE YOU in a four wide position racing into the back straight on the final occasion. In not taking more severe action stewards were mindful of the speed in which WE SALUTE YOU was moving three wide.
