RACE 6 – RULES CLUB WAGGA PACE – 1740 metres

TINGIRINGI – Driver B Jones reported that the mare sustained a flat tyre near the 200 metres. When asked about the below market expectations of the mare, B Jones stated he had entered the race with not a lot of confidence as its work since joining their stable had not been overly impressive. He added that he felt he had to make a move to attempt to get into the race from near the 800 metres as the pace of the race had eased, resulting in them racing three wide without cover from that point, but that possibly resulted in her not being able to finish the race off.

ANGELIC MISS – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued.

PROCUREMENT – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.

RACE 7 – SOUTHWEST STOCKFEEDS PACE – 1740 metres

BENTLY BULLET – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

KILLARA MISSILE – A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. When questioned regarding the below market expectations performance of the mare, Driver J Painting stated that she didn’t really travel comfortably in the early and middle stages of the race when SHAME TO FAME and SHADOW SIGN were competing for the position to his outside. He added that he had to go quicker than he would have liked to maintain his preferred position in the lead and which he felt had an impact on the mare being able to finish the race off as well as she has recently. He further added that the mare has been in work for a fair while, and if she didn’t race better at her next start the stable would consider giving her a spell.

SHAME TO FAME – Driver P Fiumara was questioned regarding the tactics adopted today on the gelding, in particular whether there was an opportunity to surrender his position outside the leader to SHADOW SIGN near the 1000 metres when that runner was pressuring him for it. P Fiumara stated that two starts prior he had surrendered his position in similar circumstances and the gelding had dropped the bit shortly after doing that and failed to be competitive, so was reluctant to do so today. He added that in his opinion the gelding races best when able to lead or race outside the leader and felt it had performed reasonably today given the time it had run.

SHADOW SIGN – Caught racing three wide from the start, then over-raced while attempting to be restrained, and as a result raced three wide without cover for the majority of the race.

REDBANK HARRY – Pre-race swab sampled.

WESTERN STYLE – Post-race swab sampled.

RACE 8 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2270 metres

DASHOFLUCK NZ – Pre-race swab sampled.

PHILANDERING CHEF – Post-race swab sampled.

DANCING CHICK NZ – Raced three wide from the start until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader leaving the 1600 metres. Continued to work forward to take over the lead from HEAVENS HURRICANE near the 1000 metres.

B K SWY NZ – Sulky contacted by CLOUDLET near the 50 metres when it was taken wider by LOUIS LITT NZ.

CLOUDLET – Tightened for room between PHILANDERING CHEF and B K SWY NZ when that runner was taken wider by LOUIS LITT NZ and contacted the sulky wheel of B K SWY NZ and was checked near the 50 metres.

LOUIS LITT NZ – Driver R Maguire was issued with a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(www)(a) for not making sufficient effort to prevent his runner from shifting out in the home straight, as a result B K SWY NZ was taken wider, resulting in its sulky wheel being contacted by CLOUDLET.
