KEMPLEY PRINCESS – Post-race swab sample.

THE HANDSOME ONE – Leaving the 350 metres was hampered when racing on the back of the weakening BEATBOXER at which point shifted in resulting in CARIBBEAN PAT which had progressed towards its inside was checked and broke gait. At a subsequent inquiry Stewards found that THE HANDSOME ONE and CARIBBEAN PAT were simultaneously moving in and consequently no driver was found carless and the incident was reported. Approaching the 150 metres when driver M Turnbull was releasing deafeners, THE HANDSOME ONE has shifted up the track and as a result raced inside the line of BEATBOXER resulting in that runner being checked and taken away.  In view of the tractability of THE HANDSOME ONE no direct action was taken other than to caution Mr Turnbull.

TINTIN ON THERIVER – Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after the start.  As this was only the colt’s second race start TINTIN ON THERIVER will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

CLASSIC BEESMACK – Stewards questioned trainer/driver R Crowe in relation to the seemingly improved performance of the gelding.  Driver R Crowe explained that the gelding was resuming from a lengthy spell and had trialled well leading into the event and was confident of a forward showing in tonight’s event.  Stewards noted his comments.

DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW – Over raced throughout the event.  Stewards questioned driver T Pay in relation to the racing manners of the filly.  Mr Pay explained that this was his first drive on the filly and that DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW was resuming from a spell.  Mr Pay explained that when obtaining the position outside of the leader the filly failed to settle at any point which proved detrimental to the filly over the concluding stages.  Stewards reported his comments.

In view of the minimal movement of both runners no direct action was taken and the incident was reported.

RACE 8 – BYRNE CLOTHING PACE – 1660 metres

JIGGY RHYTHM – Pre-race blood sample.  Driver A Clancy was found guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that approaching the 500 metres he has shifted JIGGY RHYTHM up the track whilst not being sufficiently clear of MOREARTSTHANCLASS resulting in that runner being checked and pacing roughly when contact was made to the near side fore leg of that filly.  Driver A Clancy had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 3 August 2021.  In assessing penalty Stewards considered driver A Clancy’s plea, record in relation to this rule and circumstances of this incident.  An inquiry was adjourned in relation an incident rounding the final turn where FEELING HALL GOOD appeared to race roughly whilst racing between GRINORAMA and JIGGY RHYTHM.  Post-race swab sample.

FEELING HALL GOOD – Improved three wide during from the 1200 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader approaching the 650 metres.  An inquiry was adjourned in relation to the circumstances surrounding FEELING HALL GOOD appearing to be tightened and race roughly whilst positioned to the inside of JIGGY RHYTHM and to the outside of GRINORAMA approaching the 150 metres. A date and time for this inquiry has not yet been set.
